Thread: Hatton: I'm the real deal!

Unbeaten IBO jr welterweight champion Ricky Hatton has dismissed claims by Jose Luis Castillo that he hasn't been in with the same caliber of opposition.

I think Hatton is a very good fighter but he hasnt quite supported his case that he left Warren because he couldnt get big fights. Warren got Hatton his biggest fight against Kostya. Hatton then left Warren and fought Mauzza, Collazo and then Urango. Neither of these fighters would be considered the cream of their divisions. All decent fighters for sure, but Hatton was clear favourite to beat each fighter.

Castillo is undoubtedly the biggest name to go on Hatton's resume since Kostya. If he beats Castillo and does it properly then he can call himself the real deal. It will be a toughie. I cant wait. I really hope Ricky brings it this time out!

Assuming this fight goes as many predict and hatton wins convincingly on points or KO, are the Americans gonna be satisfied? Are they jus gonna dismiss Castillo as fighter who's past it or fighting for only a second time in a new division?

I am a big fan of Hatton but you don't need to be an expert to fortell the answer to that one....No Hatton does not have the resume of Castillo
