You can't be serious? I'm still waiting for Hatton to achieved some thing worth while besides the Tszyu fight. As much as I enjoyed Hamed's downfall, I don't regard him as a complete bust.Originally Posted by Memphis
Because he has probably collected as many baubles as Hamed did but over two weight classes and he won his most important fight, Hamed didnt.Originally Posted by TYSONBRUNO

Oh! I'm not even talking about Hatton.Originally Posted by TYSONBRUNO
I'm just pointing out that you listed Nazs accomplishments like if they were a glorious monument of things. When in reality if you look into it you can make just about anyone look like they have a illustrious career.
But he's not exactly overrated is he
The problem with Naz is that he did show the kind of form and results that suggested he could have been a lot more than he was. When it all went tits up there were a lot of people saying he coulda, shoulda, woulda, Im one of them. Others who maybe didnt get to see him at his best or just dont want to or maybe dont like his style are thinking are you mad?
Still, gotta love him, if he wasnt around this board would be about 50,000,000 threads lighter![]()

I can tell you the most overrated irish boxer. Barry McGuigan. Yeah he lost to Stevie Cruz in hot temperatures, but he never came back and proved what he had. To me he was overrated a bit. Good fighter but overrated.
For the ones who say calzaghe think about this...
Untill he beat lacy much of the boxing world didn't give a damn about him called him 'crap' - even in england very few give a damn so how can someone whom most of the boxing world would fail to aknowlage because he was a dubbed a home town kept fighter be overrated? someone who has only realy just broken into the p4p list...
If calzaghe had been in the ring p4p list for the last 8 years you could have a case...
Naz without doubt is the most ovverated boxer to come out of the UK, you could also make a case for Frank Bruno and Sir henry cooper, a good guy but famous for being the first guy to put ali down... there were other 'british' boxers at the time better than him but never got the same fame or awe, Joe bugna springs to mind!
Richie Woodhall, Nicky Piper, Billy Hardy and don't forget the big girl from Scotland Scott Harrison, a man with no talent at all boxing is all the more better for having that Jail bait out of it, biggets cry baby in the sport.
Michael Brodie again like above no talent, along with Steve Foster, Henry Warton, Dave Starie the list is endless really, the biggest fraud of the all has to Johnny the Bottler Nelson, and now he is on the telly as an expert I like to see Glen McCory smack the shit out of him, some of his comments make you cringe.
anyone agree.
I'd say the two to be picked out from that list has to be Audley Harrison and Naseem Hamed. British fans only tolerate a big ego when the achievements back them up. Naseem looked to be pretty good, verging on world class as he developed into his career, but when he came up against Barrera his lack of heart and a chin were exposed. As for Harrison, his ego seemed to grow out of a misconceived notion that his career was going well, and seeing him humiliated by Sprott was very good. Also his first fight against Danny Williams was good to watch, as everything of note was coming from Williams.Originally Posted by columbo
Honeygan was an amazing boxer (who once he won the title turned into a slugger. lets not forget he totaly outboxed Curry, easily outpointed Blocker and knocked Hatcher out in 40 seconds and destroyed Johnnyn Bumphus. If he had stuck to his boxing he could have been an all time great.Originally Posted by columbo
Hodkinson was an excellent boxer and only terrible damage in his first fight against villasana cost him the title which he easily won in the rematch. He was similiar to Jeff Fenech in style and like Fenech once his chin went it was all down hill.
Laing was his own worst enemy he wouldnt train and after fights would diaspear for months on end, but his talent was undeniable and he scored some impressive wins in his career.
Hide boxed as a heavyweight when infact he was a cruiserweight in his fight with Bowe apart from getting knocked down seven times he did quite well.
Naseem Hamed was a total and utter dickhead , and as many of you said to cheer myself up i watch him look like a boy againest BarreraOriginally Posted by columbo
