Im not to sure?
Reason being that the demands of both camps will be so different, firstly the referee? Floyd will no doubt demand a ref that in the past has stood for no close up work (maybe Jay Nady?) then theres the gloves ring etc etc, we havent even got onto the financial side.
Now Dennis Hobson's offer today of $10 million probably falls short of at least $5million, and i cant see Floyd travelling to England in a mother of sundays even though he has stated before he would fight Hatton in England, i also cant see HBO happy with this fight happening anywhere but the States, i think if this fight happens Hatton will have to bite his lip and take maybe a 65/35 cut or maybe not even that, now people will say Hatton maybe dererves 50/50, maybe true but Floyd is stubborn and is regarded as the best in the Business, now Hatton if takes this sort of deal will still easily make a career high payday, but will he?
I think he has to, at the moment everyone is buzzing about this fight we cant put it off for much longer, Hatton needs Floyd not the other way round, say Hatton decides to fight Malinaggi, and doesnt impress, which is a possibility his showdown with Floyd could be well and truely dead in the water. I think Ricky needs this fight right now, even if he does loose there will be so many other options especailly if he loses a close one.
I hope im wrong but witrh these two strong personalites, will they be able to agree to all terms? I think Ricky is the one who has to give a bit as he did with KT two years ago, i hope im wrong because it will be a treat for boxing. What do you guys think?
