Thread: Shamrock vs. Baroni was a great fight!

I just caught the replay of this last night and WOW! That was a great MMA fight, both guys stood and traded a lot, and beat the hell outta each other. Both are cocky, but tough, proud motherfukers, fukin Baroni refused to tap out and thus got chocked out. Shamrock is just too skilled for him overall, but still those two put on an awesome fight. I'd like to see Frank kick Cung Lee's ass next.

That fight was AWESOME. I couldn't believe when Shamrock pointed at him then acted like he was going to sleep... 2 seconds later, BAM shamrock almost put him out. Glorious.

I've always been very impressed with frank...its unfortunate that he hasn't been more active through the years, he could've had some awesome fights with the top 185ers out there. His career is really impressive considering that he often fought over his natural weight...I dont think there is any 185 fighter out there that wouldn't have a hell of a time with Frank even at 35 with bad knees.

Yes I am part of that group, hell I'm the President of that group. It was BS for him to be suckerin guys into fighting him who had no prior expierence in his pussy little way of fighting, where he scissor kick takes you down and does all that nonsense. I cannot wait for someone to take him down and either submit him or ground and pound him, preferably ground and pound him into submitting. I think Frank can do either and will if they fight.

I'd never heard of Cung Lee till a year or so ago. I watched a number of his fights on tv and the internet. The guy is very talented, that being said its hard to judge him from his competing in sanshou considering the small scope of the sport. I'd like to see Cung in K1, ISKA or any type of top level kickboxing/muay thai to see how he stands up to world class fighters. His metal in MMA has yet to be tested. From what I've seen Cung is a good fighter and I won't be suprised if he wears a belt someday, but as of yet he hasn't been in with a fighter near the cailber of Frank. I'd feel pretty confident that at this point in both their careers that Frank would win.

I used to watch Cung Le in the late 90's. He was a beast, man. MMA is a whole different ballgame, though. Le has tore through his first 3 opponents, but none of those guys tried to take him down. The first two fighters I didn't expect to challenge his ground skills, but this last fight was rediculous. Even the announcers were screaming "WTF?" The guy went for two takedowns tops... and both of those he tried to take him down up high (Cung Le will throw your A%# if you try that). Not one shot on the legs. I'm thinking Shamrock would expose a lack of ground knowledge on Cung Le. If Shamrock doesn't try to trade with Le I say it's an easy night for him. I hope they don't throw Le in there with someone like Shamrock just yet. Let him get some experience under his belt. Let some lesser opponents take him down and roll around a bit. Just my 2 cents
