OK.... wait.
So he broke the window of a home he owns and rents out.
I know hes renting it out but that is his home. Not sure on the laws there.
....I hope I don't get called for jury duty on this one!!!Originally Posted by CutMeMick

Personally I'm 100% behind Manfredo on this one. I rent my property and wouldn't dream of even being late making a payment let alone not paying. He owed $1800 so I'm guessing hadn't paid for a while. If he's got no respect for Peter's property either and breaks windows then I'd be pissed too.
Plus if I broke a window here I'd fix it myself at my own expense and phone my landlord immediately to let her know.
And I can't afford to own a SUV either.
Sorry but his tenant sounds like a scumbag and I hope Manfredo chucks him and his pikey a** son out on the street.
Good deal Bilbs, I misread that.Originally Posted by Bilbo

I am a rental property owner, and yes manfredo has everyright to get angry and want his rent money, however, doing what he did (if he did it) wasnt right, and should be handled as such. You see, when a tenant breaks something in the rented property you just tack it on the tab. But now that manfredo busted his window (if he did it) that tenant wont pay shat for anything.Originally Posted by Bilbo

If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
Haha, what a nut. There are ways to go about getting that money...but now with fair housing he will probably end up paying.
Yes I know what the law is but I expect Peter probably feels better for smashing that twat's SUV than he would about getting any money back, not as if he's short of cash after all. Besides what's the point of putting on his tenants 'tab' if he aint paying his rent anyway. Peter has probably just come to the end of his patience with this joker.Originally Posted by Big_Deuce
It sounds like its Peter's word against the tenant and his son though and if I was responsible for making that call I'd definitely rule in favour of Peter and say that this non paying tenant is just trying to get out of paying his rent, rather than Peter being violent.
After all, if you are so broke you can't pay your rent you DON'T own an expensive SUV
Plus I've lived in rented accommadation for the past 15 years and have NEVER broken a window or damaged any property I have lived in.
If I did accidently damage anything I'd report it right away as I'm sure most responsible tenants would.
I personally think his tenant sounds like an A-hole scumbag and will hopfully not get a penny from this but will instead get thrown out on his ear.

Without that being a law people would be getting evicted and thrown out of their homes with no notice any time they complained about something
i agree that i hope the tenant gets whats coming to him (if he did wrong), but you have said acouple of times expensive SUV? where does it say that? SUV could be a 1991 explorer.![]()
