Told you man, it is one of the best movies of the last few years.
The lead guy (Choi Min-sik) is the best actor in the world right now in my opinion. He collapsed on set because he lost so much weight in such a short time to play the role of the 'locked away' guy... then, you know the scene where he eats the live octupus? That is REAL! He ate 5 of them to get it right. They say there is a strong chance that one can stick to your throat and choke you to death if they are eaten like he ate them and not cut up first. Crazy!

Actually, that dish is quite common in Korea. Im sure he was ready for those takes. Still, he did give a tremendous performance nonetheless. A quality film.

I know man, but they are usually sliced first right? That is what my Korean friend said anyway... she said eating them like he ate them is very dangerous because of the possibility of the tentacles tentacles sticking to your throat and choking you.
But yeah, what a quality film. You should see some of his other movies too... amazing actor.

Usually, it is sliced yes. Though I have seen some "macho" guys trying to outdo each other whilst on the soju. A sight to behold, believe me! Not my idea of a fun time though!!

Even cut up it can stick to the tongue or even be a little grippy if you dont chew properly. One of my friends tried it for the first time and a tentacle got stuck on his tongue and instead of chewing he felt the desire to retch. He threw up all over the ground. Not a pretty sight considering it was at an outside table besides a busy beach.

I laughed for days about that one!!
