Default Calzaghe v Hopkins. Where should it be held?

    Two sides to this argument.
It seems that if the fight takes place in the UK more money will be made. So it should be there.
Hopkins has the better career record/legacy so he should have it in his place of choice.

I think it should be in the US because hopkins has fought the better fighters, but i think if it happpens it will be in the UK cos money talks.
    What are thoughts on this?

UK makes sense to me but I know Hopkins wont stand for it.

I suppose it should be held in Vegas (if it happened) as that's where the big fights are held. But the venues are proper shit .

I know the UK makes sense because they'll make more cash. But wouldnt it do a lot more for Joes legacy if he crossed the pond and beat BHOP?
I mean if he won a close decision in Wales, his critics would say the judges were biased, ref was biased, etc. Or is Joe all about the money and not the Legacy?

would do more for an american fighter going to someone esles back yard and winning a fight too...

Joe has already gone to another fighters backyard and won the belt when he went to england and beat eubank...

It would be good for Joe if he did go to America (Maybe Vegas) and silence the critics who say he only fights at home, however i can see him getting robbed if it goes to points.

I don't have a clear cut answer for this one. In the UK more a**es in the seats. In the US there's more mainstream exposure. For me it would come down to the almighty dollar.

I personally don't care where it would take place. If I was one of the fighters & the $$$ was ALOT more to fight at the othe guys place then I would go. Show me the $$$. If the purse was in the same neighborhood then I would fight tooth & nail to fight at my place in a fight this big.

Why would u say that? What's ur reasoning?

What gifts has Hop ever gotten from the referees? NONE--ever that I can remember!!!

Bro, that's a 2 way street. IMO if there would be a robbery, it would occur in Joe's yard with Hopkins gett'n kicked in the a**. Just because Hop is American doesn't mean that The guy that isn't American will lose on the cards.

It would actually probably end up being 1 american, 1 from the UK, & 1 referee from somewhere neutral. I obviously think that ur statement is WAAYYY off base. If u have proof/something to base that statement on then I & I'm sure others are listening. If u don't, then u made a silly/unfounded statement IMO.

While I think it'd make more cash at the venue if held in Wales, my thoughts are that PPV sales will be much higher for a fight in the US.

It should be in Vegas IMO.

Calzaghe was born in Hammersmith, England, but live in Newbridge, Wales,so you can`t say he has gone to another fighters backyard, just because he was fighting in England

Yankee stadium is probably where the fight will be held..

I think it should be held there.. Joe needs to fight out of england..
and it would announce to the world that boxing is back, having a mega-fight at Yankee stadium..

But lets not overlook kessler to much

Im not saying Hopkins has had gift decisions in the past just that i have seen some dubious decisions/scorecards in fights that have taken place in America. Admittedly they happen everywhere but seeing that i support Calzaghe i would hate to see him loose his undefeated record via a robbery.

Fenster. There is a history of dodgy judging calls in America. I remember Lewis-Holyfield I and I was pretty pissed with the outcome. I'd say Hopkins had a gift from the judges on Saturday to be honest. How anyone had it 117-111 was a joke to me.

    CC back.

To be fair there's a history of dodgy decisions all over the world.

It's the old double standard i was highlighting
