War of words between Vargas and Mayorga continues
For their latest press conference, to prevent Mayorga-Vargas II from taking place, both Don King and Kathy Duva agreed to lay out this presser very differently from all others.
In the long ballroom, one dais was set up to the right. Pressed up against the wall, all the way to the left, was a second dais. Mayorga’s people, including Don King, would sit on the left, while Vargas and Duva would occupy the dais to the right.
Vargas continued, “He’s a bully. I took off my glasses, so he could see my eyes. I didn’t want him to have one over on me. Mentally he is still thinking about it.”(talking about their earlier punch up)
Some gems from Mayorga during this presser:
One line after another spewed from Mayorga’s mouth.
“Your Gorillas were holding me down while you were hitting me.”
“This fight isn’t lasting two rounds.”
“To the Mexican fans you are a disgrace to their sport.”
Vargas then said in English, “He always brings the circus with him, but then what does he bring?”
Then it got a bit nasty, only as Mayorga can do.
“You’re not going to lay me down. You’ll lay your wife down next to me.”
“You better start injecting steroids again, cause you are gonna need it again versus me.”
“I’ll be the step-dad to your kids after this fight.”
“Don did his job and found me a bum to fight on September 8.”
Then Mayorga said, “I’ll step to the middle of the room, alone. You do it too.”
