Default Cotto v DLH - who wins?

Lets assume he gets past Shane, I think it's a 'no brainer' of a fight to make for GBP.

Big money all round...but who wins?

The way Cotto fights, he might just catch a left hook and not get back up. lol
I will say this, Cotto will come to fight. He will not get out of it un-touched and neither will ODLH. It would be a great fight and a test for both fighters. How many body shots can ODLH take, vs how many left hooks to the head and chin can Cotto take. Some one get's knocked the phuk out in this war and the people get their moneys worth. ODLH is looking for a great fight unlike that shiet they put on against PBF bore fest.

To answer your question, toss up but got to go with Cotto. Youth and body shots

It's a toss up. Oscar doesn't like a good body shot, but Cotto does leave himself open at times and a left hook could dump him flat on his arse.

Toughy, but I think DLH will catch him with a good shot on the chin to win by KO. Cotto would probably be a mile ahead on the cards at that point though.

IMO this would be an easy win for DLH, he's bigger, faster, and well has great power, plus he his flurries would be enough to keep Cotto off guard, i think Cotto's one of the best young fighters out there right now, but i think that with Oscar's size, speed, boxing ability, and most of all experience, DLH would just do the whole matador routine again, the only thing is that this bull (Cotto) will try to keep charging, but i think he'll be stopped, Cotto gets hurt a lot more to the chin than Oscar does to the body, and well DLH is a great finisher, unlike most of Cotto's other opponants

This is a tough call but right now I would favor Cotto. Here is the thing, though Cotto defence is not what you might call inpregnable, he is not very suseptible to a left hook. He keeps his hands up and his chin tucked and it is tough to hit him from the sides. He eats uppercuts like crazy and thats how the other guys got to him. But at this moment I can't remember a fight were DLH used a lot of upercuts....I might be wrong on this...

I think Cotto's pressure and youth combined with a possibility that DLH might be a little weight drained if he tries to make 147 again and the fact that his stamina was never great to begin with, much less now, will be enough to give Cotto a good advantage.

Body shots will also be a big factor and would not be suprised if we see a late round stoppage. But I would'nt bet on it so my pick would be Cotto on a hard fought close but clear UD.

If we are talking at 147 then I saw a promising start from Oscar. But Cotto will begin to lay it and Oscar will fade or else lose focus down the stretch.

Oscar is past his best. Floyd beat him with a show of pure defensive expertise. The judges had it way too close IMO.

Cotto might even stop him late.

I have to laugh at the irony that it seems in most people's eyes that this would be a pick'em fight yet on other threads it seems the majority of posters think Oscar is done and should retire

Oh yeah, I forgot, this is Olden Boy we are talking about here. Cotto knocks Olden Boy out in the 8th. What was I thinking? Thanks for the reality check.

While Oscar is not in his prime...he still way more of a skilled fighter than Cotto. He still would be faster and stronger as well. Cotto is not a defensive fighter...he tends to leave himself wide open...and i am still not sold on his chin. So i can see Oscar picking him apart and very well hurting him with the left hook...and remember Oscar ain't just the hook....he has a fantastic jab when he uses it...and that jab could open up Cotto for some damage. However, Cotto is the younger fighter and would put relentless pressure on Oscar...so that could make things interesting. But i just think DLH has way too much skill and experience for Cotto to handle.

Cotto may not hit as hard with 1 punch to the body like Hopkins but he hits the body way more and at 147,his left hooks are destructive. He would break Oscar down. He also has a good jab,and I don't think Oscar is that great at dealing with jabs,he's too straight up. Oscar's chance would be to land the left hook but if Cotto prepares throughly,he should be able to avoid it and without the left hook,Oscar is half the fighter. Cotto via points/late stoppage.

I like Cotto in this fight, but as with every fight he will have from now on, it could go either way. That is one of the reasons people love watching him. It is never a sure thing with MC, but so far he hasn't disappointed. To this day DLH has not received a true beatdown, but if he doesn't get MC out of there early he will be in for the most physically punishing fight of his career. I believe MC will be the one that will make him realize he doesn't need to be in the ring anymore without the same hunger he had in the past. DLH slowed down in the latter half of the PBF fight. He couldn't get off as much and got countered more often. You slow down against Cotto you get pulverized.
    I know everything about nothing!

i think people need to stop calling delahoya-mayweather a borefest, it was a decent fight with lots of excitment and anticipation, ok it didnt live up to the hype but i dont think any fight can live up to the hype they were building
