Please tell me what the purpose of the show is

...In case you do not know it is for guys either who have not for some reason been able to make a name for themself orrr guys on the way out looking for one last ditch effort.....
I really do not think I should have to explain how going on the contender reality series is a step doen for guys with names like Soliman or Bika
The purpose of the show is different for everyone. For me and most viewers it is entertainment. For participants, it is to earn a living and hopefully a better living than they are currently earning. As far as a step down. In case you didn't know there is a guy named Jorge Arce who's popularity mainly came from his appearances on nationally televised reality shows. When the product you are promoting and advertising is yourself, getting face time on t.v. is important. Other than the hardcore boxing fans, who knows Bika? He was an opponent on an HBO fight, but how else would anyone know him?
I don't think grown men punching each other in the face has much purpose other than entertainment. The belts mean squat, and fickle fans mean even less. They face having brain damage and other serious injuries to earn a living, and most like the crowds cheering. It's not like a fight has to have some supreme meaning in order for me to watch, as a matter of fact some of the best really had no purpose. Ward-vs-Gatti... It's entertainment for us, and a payday for them.
