Thread: Who would you most like to see Fedor face?

And who would have the best chance of beating P4P number 1?

nogueira is the obvious choice but that one has been done enough times

Randy couture or josh barnett have the best chance of beating him i reckon but i dont think they will

If Barnett could get the takedown I'd give him a decent chance, but I just feel like over 5 rounds Fedor would eventaully overwhelm him...Randy is a hard pick...Fedor has good power and hand speed as well as being an intense pressure fighter, but he isn't particularly technical in his striking so Randy might be able to use a little more sharp punching style to keep him off balance...That being said I don't think Randy's chin is the best(not bad but not great) so I could see Fedor's swarming style eventually catching him...I thought Coleman was doing real well in the first fight before that sick arm bar, so I think Randy could have some success on the ground as well. Once again though Fedor's sub work is awesome...I'd give Barnett a 30% chance and Randy a 45% chance....If Gonzaga proves to be legit then he may be the best test Mr. Emelianko.

Yeah I would like to see all of the above fight Fedor, but wouldn't give any of them any more than 2-1 underdogs. Most guys you pick to beat a guy like Fedor is one that can beat him at his weakness, but Fedor hasn't shown any weaknesses yet.

He's really a phenom, considering fighters that have one or two great strengths(couture's wrestling/striking, gonzaga's subs, Barnett's wrestling) won't outweigh his own prowress, since he's that good in every aspect. Not to mention he puts on the pressure more than any heavyweight in UFC and has the conditioning to do so. His only 'weakness' I can see is maybe a strength matchup. He's not as physically strong as Couture or Barnett I think, and he had a little trouble with Coleman and Randleman's strength before pulling out some amazing subs.

Even so its MMA and anyone can lose or win in a match, it'll just take a little extra luck/skill to beat this guy I think. Cmon Dana bring him to the states and show the casual fans a true #1 fighter!

That would actually be pretty interesting but I don't think he'll move up in weight class. He would be a pretty small heavyweight. Then again he's around Randy's size but he's never fought guys that outweight him by 20-40 lbs.

I did hear he was thinking about it after losing to Rampage so who knows, we'll see after he clocks Jardine.

I like Chuck alot, but I don't think he could do it...I just don't think Fedor would stand with him, and even though Chuck's takedown defense is superb, Fedor is such a beast I think he would get Chuck down in the latter rounds and either sub or GNP to the win. Many people will suggest that Chuck has problems with top notch strikers after the loss to Quinton. Fedor doesn't utilize the head movement or technical punching that Jackson has...If he stood with Chuck it would be coming straight forward throwing haymakers...My opinion is this would play into Chuck's strength he works best backing up and counterpunching...So then the question is could he KO Fedor before being swarmed and takedown.
