    Default Cintron-Feliciano back on!

Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing announced today that the IBF welterweight title fight between champion Kermit Cintron (28-1, 26 KOs) and Jesse Feliciano (14-5-3, 8 KOs) is back on and will be on the undercard of the rescheduled Fernando Vargas-Ricardo Mayorga fight November 23,

    Should be a slugfest.

Wow, I know Jesse is a tough action fighter who wouldn't be a push over, but even with Jesse's impressive KO of Delvin Rodriguez, I thought Cintron would be on to bigger names.

BoxRec has the Clottey fight mentioned in that article as Cintron's next fight...

Is this really a fight that needed to be remade?

Feliciano was getting pounded by Rodriguez, a sharp puncher before he made one minor adjustment of pickng his head up that Rodriguez couldn't cope with.

I really doubt this gets out of the first round. The talent gap is huge here and unlike Rodriguez, Cintron has power that Feliciano can't walk through. And a lot of it.

Yeah, Feliciano is a tough guy, but walking through punches vs. walking through a sledgehammer are 2 different things. He will get abused badly; though I would love to see him k.o. Cintron as I can't stand that guy.

Feliciano's getting KO'd early. The guy has limited skills and overrated power. I like the guy and I was glad to see him come from behind to beat Rodriguez, but all he brings to the table is a granite chin and that's not going to save him against Cintron.

Yeah, I thought it was I guess defensible as just a stay busy fight but not sure I see the point of rescheduling. Gotta be better fights out there for Cintron.

Might be decently entertaining while it lasts though, Cintron should have him out no later than the fifth round.

Great question. Looks like he's just trying to stay busy/sharp until he can fights guys like Margarito, P. Williams or Judah, etc.

Now BoxRec has both fights listed! Feliciano on 11/23 and Clottey on 12/01. I guess Cintron is considering this a sparring session!

That would be realistic, honestly... Just a shame that he won't fight Clottey soon I guess.

Well if Clottey v Collazo comes off, then Kermit is fighting the winner as it's an IBF eliminator. I think it's excellent to see a champ staying busy. Kermit and Ponce are really good at that.

Of course, Feliciano should be hoping Cintron is thinking like that. How many times has a better fighter gotten caught while looking ahead? I guess it does happen more with guys on the way up, looking for their first big shot, still...
