Falcons QB Vick tests positive for marijuana; judge imposes tighter restrictions on freedom

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- A federal judge placed tighter restrictions on Michael Vick on Wednesday after he tested positive for marijuana.

Because of the result, U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson placed special conditions on Vick's release, including restricting him to his home between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and ordering him to submit to random drug testing.

The urine sample was submitted Sept. 13, according to a document by a federal probation officer that was filed in U.S. District Court on Wednesday.

Vick, who admitted bankrolling a dogfighting operation on property he owns in Surry County in his written federal plea, is scheduled for sentencing Dec. 10.

Call me crazy but this MIGHT affect the sentence Vick will be handed down both Federally and in the State's case against him

It doesn't matter what somebody does in their own home but he's in the system for now and the system has rules.

Gee anyone who decides that while waiting sentencing for a federal conviction to roll a fattie,even though theyre getting drug tested is a really bright guy?
Do you see alot of guys raising deers that they torture for sport?

...yeah if he thought the Federal Judge was going to do him any favors with sentencing he can kiss that idea goodbye!



I'm all for people being free to smoke what they want to but there are laws and if you get caught you're going to get the book thrown at you especially if you're already in trouble.

IMO pot isn't 100% bad...it's like any other controlled substance like beer, liquor, or tobacco, some people can use it to little effect and not hurt anyone and others just can't control themselves on it.

And yes tobacco is something that is addictive but once again I file the repercussions of use under PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY! And yes I have had people in my family die from cancer....but it's not like if they had never smoked they would have lived forever anyways.

Lyle is right.

It's about being responsible. I'm all for people's right to smoke, but he was in a situation where he couldn't. A responsible person would have put it aside. But Vick didn't. That's so stupid.

It's like those people on probation you meet who measure when they smoke by the next time they meet with their officer. Vick couldn't even do that right.

I hate people saying it's a black thing like "we" endorse it. If it's a multi-billion dollar industry in this country then there are a whole lot of people who are not black doing it. That makes about as much sense as serial killing being a white thing.

That actually is a white thing tho. Infact being white is one of the 14 traits of a serial killer if i remember right. White, intelligent, male, pyromania, and w/e the rest were.

But saying it's a 'white thing' or a 'black thing' to me says that that particular group, as a whole, endorses that activity.

I could see how you could interpret it as that. When I say something is a ____ thing I simply mean that if a person was going to do it, they'd probably fall under that category of race, religion, w/e. I personally believe there are more white people dog fighting in the south than black people but the serial killer thing is backed up with statistics. They might just be an anomaly but they are there.
