I HOPE YOSHIDA GETS TO FIGHT RICKSON NOW THAT SAKURABA IS ALREADY FIGHTING THAT NIGHT, YOSHIDA WILL DOMINATE GRACIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

K1 really could do better then re running a bunch of has beens. Yoshida is coming off a loss to Thompson, Rickson hasn't fought since what? 2000? and is how old? Funaki hasn't fought since being choked out by rickson. Saku looked decent in his last opponent but the guy was a can. His fight against Royce was not something to be proud of though. I know K1 is pandering to the Japanese market but lets at least put some legit talent in there not some pretenders, has beens and never where's.

these are two fights of the entire card, and im sure the other fights will be thousands of times better then all UFCs cards this year combined...


but the sakuraba fight is a fight ALL the japanese fans want to see, and rickson gracie MUST LOSE so he wont go down as some legend in the future

Sal...UFC could stage a card with the 5 best fights out there and you'd say it sucks b/c you hate it and can't be objective...I sure hope the rest of that K1 card is better b/c those two fights are garbage.

No I didn't mean the fighters they have on contract I mean any 5 fights. Your dislike for the org and White has become so absurd that even if they contracted your fav fighters and pitted them together you'd have some sh!tty comment about it and why White is the most evil man alive and UFC is nothing but scrubs. UFC has some good cards and it has some less than good cards but the two fights that you mentioned in this thread are garbage fights with fighters that are either WAY past it or never were really that important. If your really a huge MMA fan then why not just enjoy the fights and get over this blood vendetta you have for White and UFC b/c the put your fav org out of business and that Prides fighters have not performed at the level many thought they would. Its about the fights not some bald mouth piece or the name on the ring.

this may seem like a shit card to you but a sakuaraba - funaki, rickson - yoshida card could be the exact thing needed to elevate K1 to the status of pride amongst the japanese fans

My understanding is that Japanese fans already love Heroes. I'm sure the asian fans are excited about seeing some ancient has beens make a paycheck off their names, but that doesn't make them relevant fights. This is the kind of thing that I've seen you bash the UFC for. For example just about any fight with Tito Ortiz. I don't pretend to be as knowledgable of all the Asian fighters. I'm familiar with Yamamato/Gomi/Aoki/Sakurai and some others and K1 has added Overeem/Khartinov/Kang etc so I like their stable, but I don't get a since of continuity as an orginization. Much like I didn't like all of the non title fights in Pride. As far as Rickson. I mean he has to be in his 40's now and anyone who is knowledgable enough to be familiar with him will also know that his claim to 400+ victories w/o a loss is BS.

well the reason i hated on the UFC for the ortiz fights is cuz i think ortiz was always shitty, and should have never gotten popular, his win over silva was a robbery and the guy should have lost to fucking forrest griffin

i just am not impressed with the whole ultimate fighter thing and i hate hgwo they pusgh those guys into the main events

For all of UFC's claiming to be an international org lets be serious its a North American org and its fans like english speaking Americans. So they make this show which infuses its ranks with lots of names that fans are familiar with through the show. Much like the way Pride used lots of Japanese fighters that probably weren't near the level as some of their imported talent. Its a sport but you have to at least attempt to give the bulk of your viewing audience what they want. I don't like ignorant rednecks that boo fights just b/c its not a slugfest but thats the price you pay with growth. I equally can't stand know it all elitists. If I hadn't grown up with a good Brazilian friend then I never would have watched MMA in the 90's and would probably be a "Tuf Noob". Everyone has to start somewhere. The best thing that any org can do is put its fighters on free TV to build a fanbase so hopefully as the sport grows UFC/Heroes/M1 etc will consistently show up and coming fighters at least monthly on free TV.

it looks like what they want to do now is NOT have rickson fight on this card, but have him fight the winner of the sakuraba fight


im dissapointed that yoshida wont get to beat the fuck out of rickson but im also happy that not sakuraba can fuck up the last gracie
