Default Fedor v Choi NYE Japan? Not confirmed but the card is STACKKKKEEEDD

He's fighting the K1 7foot 2 1-0 in MMA Hong Man Choi. I know it's a goodbye to his Jap fans and I love Fedor but surely they could have got someone better? Rizzo,Monson,Barnett were surely all makeable fights? Is he still P4P number 1 and if not,who is? In fact, post your top3/5/whatever P4P lists please folks!

Thats a bit of a let down. I'll have to think about P4P list but here is my HW
    1.Fedor
    2.Barnett
    3.Big Nog
    4.Couture
    5.Khartinov
    6.Sylvia
    7.Hunt
    8.Gonzaga
    9.Arlovski
    10.A Emeliakno

just off the top of my head. Hunt might be a bit high come to think of it. I'm sure there is some guys I'm not thinking of.

Actually,I'm not going to be too critical of Fedor for this fight. It's a stay busy fight whilst M1 sorts out their event. M1 are merely loaning him to this event peeps. I've seen on other forums people say Fedor is ducking so and so,etc etc but this is just a keep busy fight. Nothing wrong with that imo. I'll definitely be watching especially when it has a card like this:

    -Fedor Emelianenko

    -Joachim Hansen

    -Ricardo Arona

    -Gilbert Melendez

    -Luiz Azeredo

    -Aoki Shinya

    -Kazuo Misaki

    -TatsuyaKawajiri

    -Hayato "Mach" Sakurai

    -Mitsuhiro Ishida

Please note that the M-1 Mixfight homepage also mentions that Alexander Emelianenko and Roman Zentsov will take part in the event as well, though these fighters have not been officially confirmed as of yet.

The most notable omission from the list, as it stands, appears to be the absence of Hong Man Choi, though he could certainly be added at a later time.

THAT CARD IS FUCKING STACKED. ONCE AGAIN UFC IS SHOWN SHOWN HOW TO MAKE A STACKER CARD.DAm!!!!!!

UFC could do a better job of making top to bottom cards, but I think you have to be careful of shooting your wad to early. If they put all of the big fights on one card then you will have a lull in "big" fights. That is an impressive line up though

I didnt think they had even confirmed what organization this fight would take place in, let alone any other fights on the card.

Fedor's contract with M-1 is non-exclusive (which, from what I read, is the ONLY reason he didn't sign with UFC [wanting to compete in the Russian Sambo Championships, in particular]). This fight could either be an M-1 fight or a K1 fight. So how is the card known?

That being said, I'm willing to go out on a limb and wager against Fedor on this one....if any of you guys are willing to wager that Fedor will win, I'll take any bet (go typical sherdog with betting sig/avatar or betting for CCs). Let me know.

Choi has a good chin and good power, and is just plain old massive. I dont think he'll win, per se, but I think he has a good enough chance that I'll bet on the underdog on this one. Let me know.
Boxing is like a handjob, and MMA is like a hot sweaty orgy with 5 chicks. I could never say no to a handjob, but which would you rather have?

The event has been confirmed in numerous sources man. Look at the pics Sal has posted in another thread, there is a pic of all the fighters there. And I'm glad to see someone not totally brain dead like 90% of Sherdoggers. Choi is HUGE AND has good stand up,so it does not matter who you are, that's a dangerous combination! Still,I'll take Fedor so I'll CC bet you"

no doubt about it, fedor is the greatest mma fighter ever.

but recently he hasnt been very busy, i dont know why, im just wondering, is he getting lazy

if this is his last fight for pride/japan, then i think its a good one. we know fedor isnt scared of anybody, he'll fight anyone, just look at his record, its more than impressive.

Hong Man Choi is a good opponent for fedor cos any half decent japanese fighter who is 7 foot plus tall is loved by japanese. and if he's fighting the best, then it will make a good event.
also Hong Man Choi is no slouch.

usually big guys cant strike, but this dude ought in k1 and more than held his own just cos of his size. k1 is real hard to compete in, you have to be pure striker. so fedor wont bring anything different, will he? OR WILL HE.

i watched Hong Man Choi's first mma fight and he just overpowered the guy and easily won quick.
i cant imagine how fedor who is more than extremly strong, will grapple with this monster. if he cant grapple with him, how will he strike with this monster who has competed against the best strikers in the world? dont forget fedor can do alot of everything too, he grappling is the best, he is unhumanly strong, tossing big heavyweights around like rag dolls. and his striking is top too, he can fight in any position, he battered a prime crocop in a striking match! and i've also read that fedor spars with alexander povetkin.

    its a good fight!
