Default Today Calderon's First defense of New Title

Today we will have the opportunity to watch one more time the superb skills of the Iron Boy, Ivan Calderon, when he faces Juan "Panterita" Esquer for the first defense of his 108 title. There has been a lot of verbal attacks from Esquer to Calderon, which made Calderon really mad. However, Calderon indicated that this will not make him lose his concentration nor forget about his fighting plan. This promises to be a match between the boxer (Calderon, 29, 0, 6 KOs) and the puncher (Esquer 22, 2, 1, 17 KOs). I am hoping that, if Calderon wins this fight he has the chance for the title unification.

So do i. He should unify soon. I really only see Calderon fighting a couple more fights then calling it quits. he's a great fighter and deserves to go out on top!!

You are absolutely right. Calderon has mentioned that he plans to retire soon (not more than a couple of years, I would say 2 to 3). He is a great champion and one of the best pound for pound who has great skills. I hope that everyone in the forum has the opportunity to watch him fighting before he retires, specially knowing that there are some people who dislike the low weights. They don't know what they are missing.

I really hope Calderon has that unification opportunity and we have to remember that he made what seemed almost impossible, defeating Casares who was considered the best on the 108 division.
