A new P4P #1 will be needed within the next 5 years as Hatton will have retired by then.Who do you think it'll be?
(A legit question but I had to get my little dig in)

Miguel Cotto.
Kelly " the ghost " Pavlik.
I don't know about that one. Cotto is already 27 and in 5 years that would make him 32. With his style of fighting, that would make him an old 32. But it could happen.Originally Posted by Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker
I personally would lean towards Kelly Pavlik or Juan Diaz. They would be both 30 and 29 respectively. Pavlik will be coming right out of his physical prime and Diaz would be in the middle of it.
I'm actually interested to see who will still be a part of this forum in 5 years time and be able to brag about how they were right when they predicted this topic now.
BTW...In 5 years time, De La Hoya will still be fighting part-time and taking the spotlight off of up-and-coming fighters...lol!
im sorry but i honesdtly think amir kahn, he had one dodgy moment in one fight and everyone writes him off.. time will tell
dont Fuck with the chuck
Are you being sarcastic ??Originally Posted by gudnite vienna
Even if he does prove people wrong and turn out tops, no fighter promoted by Frank Warren will be p4p no 1 as he wont let tem travel to fight the elite fighters often enough.
you say that but Joe Calzaghe could have a case for P4P 1 if he beats Hopkins and Mayweather loses!!
Agreed![]()

personally i dont agree, but i can see your point there maybe an argument for him.
David 'Hayemaker' Haye
Probably someone we don't even talk about yet.
Well it could be someone we hav never heard of yet
as for current fighters,it cud be cotto, although wit that style its hard to c him at 32 or 33 still being on top...
il prob get slated for this but i wouldnt rule out joan guzman.....
im gonna have to go with my bowy Jorge Linares trust me hes gonna be big
Good call! CC! He will still be young in 5 years. Who is his promoter?Originally Posted by ACEA
I don't know about that one. I don't see Guzman getting many big fights. He wasn't exactly praised for his last performance. AND he would be 36 going 37.Originally Posted by fin
It's really hard to tell but if I had to take a shot at it I would say the following guys have a damn good shot at it.
Calderon
Cotto
'Bull' Diaz
Hasegawa
Linares
Some that I mentioned are already well on their way to P4P status , with the exception of Linares whom I think will mold himself into P4P status eventually.
