Thread: "Money" Mayweather Defined

Let me start by saying i dont like Floyd Mayweather. He is a great athelete, But a complete A-hole. He doesnt have a sincere bone in his body but he does have skills, which i acknowledge.

That being said....

When I paid my $60.00 USD to see this fight, I was pretty sure I was going to get a fight of the year. The first fight was 2 little kids pretending to fight.. I dont know what that was all about Maybe they were too cheap to put some decent fighters on the under-cards. The second fight Was a little more interesting.. De Leon is always entertaing to watch. And well, like some of you I'm sure.. I fell asleep durring the third fight. Manfredo, mixed with the smooth voice of lampley is better than a double dose of NyQuil.

After waking up to " There's Only One.. Ricky Hatton" I was re-energized and ready to rock. The first 3 rounds were so exciting i nearly pissed myself. What followed though, was a disgrace to the sport. Every three second you kept hearing Cortez screaming " Ricky! Ricky! Ricky!" It was like a bad episode of I love Lucy. Aside from Joe Cortez being an absolute A-hole.. And blind as a bat.. I was still pretty excited to see what looked like a good fight...How exactly did Hatton loose a point when Floyd held him significantly more? the frustration with the Ref finnally overcame Ricky in the 5th or so, and he lost his way.

At that point I was suspicious of who was really cutting Joe's check... I wasnt positive though, until i saw the judges score cards... they gave ricky hatton one round? Are you kidding me? not even the most avid mayweather fan is that stupid, to think he lost only one round. As De la Hoya learned.. You can't win a fight running away floyd.

"Money Mayweather" Yeah im pretty sure the judges and ref's in Vegas came up with that name for him. No way that fight was legit. I am the ANTI-CONSPIRICY type.. i dont believe in set-ups.. pay offs, and underground hoodlums running the boxing world... But this was blaetent and to be honest, I feel absolutely raped of my $60.00.

I was born at night. BUT not last night, HBO. I'm ok with a Mayweather win.. RING magazine interviewed 20 people and it was something like 16-4 picked mayweather. I expected a loss, but was hopeful. What i Cannot acccept is the badgering of Hatton by the ref through out the fight, and the padded scores of the judges. I mean even the drunk old goat Larry merchant was shocked at the scores.

Oh well.. Congrats Mayweather.. Toss a couple thousand my way " Money man" and I'll re write this whole post in your favor.

Who gives a shit about what Quammi just rattled off it never went to the scorecards Theres only one Ricky Hatton got KTFO period. Oh and sorry the ref didnt let Ricky cheat some more. The guy wanted to wrestle and even got beat at that, then got KTFO. No matter how u idiotic fans wanna twist this he got KTFO. I just dont remember Joe Cortez throwing that beautifully timed left hook that sent Hatton's head thrashing into the corner post, then finishing him off with sharp laser like punches. I'm sure even the freakin queen felt that left hook, and she never once blamed Joe cortez .

Hey bud, the fight was last night... Im not sure what fight your talking about. Floyd was holding Ricky so much he owes him a dinner.

It was one of those fights where you will always get one guy calling it wide for one fighter, but another guy calling it wide for the other fighter.

I know that in the US, they do tend to score for aggression (which they don't do so much in the UK.)

I was surprised that the scoring was so wide, being in America and all ..... but I didn;t give Ricky many rounds at all.
