-Gomez
-williams
-margarito
-Floyd
cuz i sure wouldnt, although im not saying i think these fights are sure fire wins for Cotto
Call me cynical but i'm not really impressed with his level of opposition lately.
Branco
Malignaggi
Quintana
Urkal
Zab
Shane
Branco - Padded record....limited fighter
Paulie - At the time Cotto fought him, Paulie hadn't beaten anybody really of note.
Quintana - Claim to fame was beating a prospect. Understandable that Cotto wanted to adjust to 147 tho
Urkal - Not impressed
Zab - After Baldi and Mayweather had already beaten him, Zab had the look of a beaten fighter.
Shane - Kudos....could argue that his best years are behind him but could argue that his win over Collazo proved he was close to being the fighter he once was. I actually picked Shane to win so repsect to Cotto for winning.
And now he's fighting a reality TV star.
I just feel that Cotto is in his prime Now and therefore he needs to be aiming to unify. I see what Arum is doing with him and i understand they are trying to build up a following to give them a head of steam for a possible Mayweather fight
I guess i'd just be more excited about him fighting Tony, Cintron, Williams....or even Collazo.
Please don't take this as me hating, because i'm not....i'd just much prefer to see him beating top class guys who are at the top of their game. I'm actually more excited by the undercard.
I just don't agree with reality TV stars earning world title shots basically because they have had exposure to a mainstream audience. I get wound up with Boxing in general which seems to want to appeal to the mainstream public rather than appeal to it's hardcore fans.
