The two hardest hitting British Middleweights of all time never met up. Why not? And what if they had? "The Hawk" vs. "The Dark Destroyer", what a slugfest that woulda been. Woulda been over quick too I would imagine.

"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Jackson wasn't British, He was from the U.S. Virgin Islands.
At the time Benn, Eubank and Watson were engaged in some pretty brilliant battles over here fOR a World title over in Britain.
Stateside Toney, Jones Jr, McClellan, Jacson and McCallum were in the mix for a world title over there.
Each fighter didn't want to leave there comfort zone in such a competitive market and surrender an advantage by travelling to a rivals home country to fight.
Although fights between Eubank and Jones. Jones and Benn. McCallum and Eubank. were all pushed for the only international bouts that really occured were Benn Vs. McClellan and Watson vs. Mike McCallum.
Collins came on the scene later and he too boxed McCallum and was pushing for a fight with Jones before a brain scan ended his career.

Jackson was not allowed to fight in Britain because of his bad eyes and I am sure that Benn went to Super middle which was a weight too far although he would have carried his punch. It would have been a cracker. I would go for Jackson at middle and Benn at super middle, where he was the finished article.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Impossible fight to pick a winner for me. Def a KO one way or the other - would love to have seen it!!

For a guy with over 6000 posts , you thought Julian Jackson was BritishOriginally Posted by Hulk
obviously u have never heard him speak as he has a typically west Indian Afro - Caribbean accent.
But at middle Jackson KO'S Benn in 1. but hell it could have gone either way , Benn had great power but Jackson remains the hardest 1 shot hitter in history for me.
The list of guys you've put up does make for sad reading, considering the number of mouthwatering cross atlantic fights that could've been made. Still, all the guys mentioned did fight at least one of the others on the list. Benn v Jackson may well have been the pick of them entertainment wise.Originally Posted by hitmandonny

I forgot he is from the Virgin Islands I remember seein that tidbit when he fought Verno Phillips on an ESPN classic re-run a couple months back.
You really think he was the hardes 1 punch KO hartist in history though? Why?
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Power is a strange thing , its not about how a guy is built , but for me Jackson just had an amazing effect on guys he hit , lots of fighters have high ko persentages , but jackson scored lots of clean kos were the guys didnt get up from the shot.
G-MAN Had great power but for me Julian Jackson had the biggest shot of all.
Because Jackson didn't even use to try and he still KO you like you was nothing.Originally Posted by Hulk
I think Jackson could of been the man to floor Marvin Hagler.Originally Posted by Dark Lord Al
I think he would have been tailor made for Hagler. Hagler dealt with Hearns and Mugabi even late in his career. He would have rushed Jackson and took advantage of Jackson's questionable chin. Hagler was a smart guy, he knew how to approach different styles.Originally Posted by Ice Cold Boxing
Im not saying Hagler wouldn't win but i still think Jackson could be the man to floor Hagler if he caught Hagler flush.Originally Posted by Deanrw
I think Benn would KO Jackson both great punchers but Benn's chin were'nt all that bad look how he did with the G man
how come Roy jones. jr . would not fight them?
Benn didnt wanna fight RJJ.Originally Posted by ghost197532
