Thread: I was More Impressed With Golata

Against a younger faster opponent,who was cheating like mad,he delivered a cool and calculated beat down.
And even though the younger guy was getting away with some outrageous crap out there(the repeated shoulder spears to Golata's midsection come to mind) Andrew did the one thing nobody was sure he could do.He kept his cool,and kept working without doing anything stupid out there

cc man. Golata really surprised me. I though he was going to fall apart especially with his eye swollen shut, but he never did. I was pulling for him more in this fight than I ever did in the past cause he showed more heart and will to win than ive seen him do in a long time. Good win for him especially at 39 years old.

The old Golata,especially with that eye welding shut,would have panicked looking for the win,not this version.
He kept to his game plan,and just kept on delivering some severe punishment,he definitly had a feeling of "I wont be denied"
In alot of ways that adversity he had to deal with in this fight makes it way more impressive then his dismantling of Jeremy Bates,a better prospect for starters,and just what he had to overcome to get it.

Golota did well...for Golota...Like it was already said at least he did not fall apart...If he was in with any other guy who had a little something more to him Andrew would of had Major problems....

He is very slow...and sloppy...but it was a good win for him....

I for one could not believe how much holding that Mike Mollo guy was getting away with. It was fucking ridiculous. He kept trying to tackle Golota for like 5 straight rounds, thats the only reason he survived, aside from being such a tuff bastard.

More or less how me and Feur saw it as well,but thats what made is win so convincing,he never let it phase him,nor the fact that the ref wasnt doing a damned thing about it,he just dealt with it

Yeah he did well. A bit slow but accurate with his punches and patient. I was impressed that he kept his cool even though his left eye was closed. I was waiting for him to say that famous line that one forum mod uses as his name here. The holding and pushing and "spearing" as you called it by mollo was so bloody frustrating to watch and he was even grabbing hold of galota down behind his knee like he was about to throw him like a wrestler, weird.

Yeah Mollo woulda been out of there early'ish if he hadn't been allowed to get away with half the shit he was getting away with. My friend hadn't seen much of Golota and when Mollo was hitting him with low blows, holding etc I kept saying to my friend 'watch this!! He's gonna flip any minute!!!'.
I said that all the way through the first until the last minute of the 12th...he never did flip
Impressed with his discipline..I bet he's kicking himself for not having it against Riddick

You have to be kidding me ?? i'll admit Golota did handle the pressure well but Mollo is a journeyman fighter. And after the middle rounds Mollo was basically holding on for dear life and it was unimpressive how Golota couldn't finish him off. Golota looked slow and his punches were very sloppy and he was even stunned numerous times by a sloppy journeyman fighter like Mollo.

You have to be kidding me ?? i'll admit Golota did handle the pressure well but Mollo is a journeyman fighter. And after the middle rounds Mollo was basically holding on for dear life and it was unimpressive how Golota couldn't finish him off. Well no one on this forum or anyone where i lived didn't think Mollo had a chance in hell.

Then they didnt see the way none of those shoulder charges in to Golata's gut didnt get called once,and the amount of money King had invested in to Mollo
Even Emanuel Stewart was hinting it might get vicked from him when it went to the cards

The fact is Mollo is not a good fighter and he is limited journeyman fighter and that showed in his fight with Golota. Mollo exhausted after about the 6th round and all he did was clinch all night after that and landed few punches here and there, while Golota was throwing slow sloppy punches and couldn't stop a journeyman fighter who was basically holding on to Golota at times to stop himself from falling flat on his face. The fight was exciting in the early going and it had its moments, but after about 6th round it turned into a wrestling match, Golota did deal with some pressure early very well, and Mollo showed good chin and big heart other than that it was a bad performance from both fighters.

Trainer Monkey, I think it's you who doesn't understand the business side.

If Golota was 'supposed' to lose on a King card, against a King fighter who King has invested a lot of money in, he would have lost. Mollo was busy enough in the early rounds that a dodgy decision was not out of the question. King gets what King wants.

Golota is a thousand times more bankable than Mollo. He's white, Polish and FUCKING CRAZY - what's not to love?

Bottom line, and why I agree with Ice Cold - Golota looked terribly slow and sloppy against a vastly inferior and undersized opponent with a dreadful stamina problem. Golota should have KO'd that guy inside of four rounds - just like DaVaryll Williamson did.
