Calzaghe fight moved to 19th April as it clashes with.....?

Just read that the reason it was moved from 12th to 19th is that the 12th clashed with another big fight in USA, as did the 5th April.

Anyone any ideas what these 'other big fights' are ?? cos I can't find anything anywhere

April 12th is the potential card of Cotto vs. Gomez & Margarito vs. Zab. I don't think it's set in stone but that's the day that was announced.

April 5th I'm not sure...

I just remembered isn't April 5th one of the dates ODLH set as fight date for himself?

Not sure, the best way to check is to look at the Christian Calendar. Any major festivals or holy days to commemorate Christ are the likely Oscar dates.

Easter is in March this year so I'm guessing Oscar won't be fighting in April.

Next big occasion is Pentecost on June 4, so if he's fighting 3 times this year my guess is March 16-22 as that's Holy Week, then again June 4 on Pentecost, which means the rematch with Floyd will be Christmas time.

I thought Cotto-Gomez and Marg-Zab was April 26th? Boxrec still has it at that date as well (just checked).

Boxrec also has Chad Dawson-Glen Johnson + Tarver vs. TBA on April 12th. Obviously not nearly as big as Calzaghe-Hopkins imo, so not sure if that would be any reason to move? However having those fights on free Showtime might hurt the possible US ppv-sale, so that could be a reason still.
