Thread: does anyone know if Ike Ibeabuchi was granted parole?

can't find anything on him.. maybe he can get out a generate some sparks in the cold (boring)HW division

If he came back now after all this time he would still have a good chance of winning a title against the current champs the heavyweight division is a joke at the moment.

Fair point but lets not forget Tyson still won the WBC and WBA titles after his release from prison Ike could do the same i said win a title not reign supreme Briggs won a title for gods sake.

They are not letting Ike out on parole....He will be an old old man before he sees daylight as a free man

Shannon Briggs got LUCKY vs Lyakhovich

Besides I agree with Daxx on this one if you realize just how fucked up Ike was in the head you'd also realize that he would never be allowed to get out early

And I HATE the HW division as much as the next guy, but it is not as much of a joke as a lot of us, me included, like to make out. The titleholders are well schooled, disciplined fighters. Just not outstanding or overly talented. However they are quite capable of defeating an outta shape, shot ex-con like Ibeabuchi would be. Less he took like 2 years to come back and worked his way up slowly, and the right way.

I don't understand why people HATE the heavyweights.....there is competition in that division a lot more than the other divisions.

How many successful title defenses have their been between all the current title holders?

Some facts about Ike that we all have to face...

1: Ike was great & showed a lot of promise...that greatness & promise will never be seen again unless Ike has some really special technique in crafting license plates.

2: Ike has been denied parole the last 3 times that he has been interviewed by the board.

3: If some miracle were to smile upon ole' Ike & he were set free...he would be immediately deported back to Nigeria where he would face a psyche evaluation, dubbed competent or not, & then face the wrath of the judge, jury, & executioner for crashing his car into a concrete bridge supprt thus sending his ex-girl friend's young son through the windshield & onto the enbankment.

Last I read that child had to have multiple surgeries & was totally FUBAR from that faithful day that Ike snapped.

Ike's done as southern fried fwockin chiznicken.

But that's just it... People hate it, because it SHOULD be the premier division in boxing. It always had been. Now, there hasn't been a meaningful HW PPV event in YEARS. That was absolutely unheard of until farily recently. The casual fan thinks of the HW's first, due to the nature of fights, and the fact that you used to far more often see a KO in meaningful fights due physics. And what do you mean there is competition in that division moreson than others... If you mean straweight maybe so, though I doubt the fights have been much better. But almost every other division I can think of has more talented athletes taking part in better fights. Seriously, the fact that this thread is about 2 could be cruiserweights having beatin two washed up WLad KO victims after the fact to determine who can get KTFO next, hardly gives anyone reason to like the division.... Who knows where the problem really lies, but the fact is, there aren't any great athletes becoming HW fighters anymore. I would honestly consider Ray Lewis vs Wlad Klitschko a 50/50 fight, assuming Lewis took enough time to train for the fight. I know this sounds crazy, but fuck, it's just got to do with talent imo.
