    Default PAL Vs. NTSC

This is a repost of a topic that I made during the conversion period.

I very much dislike the PAL format. I have a few PAL formatted movies that are not avaiable on Region 1 DVD.

Every PAL movie I own looks sped up a notch or two and makes fight and chase scences look absurd. A slight wind blowing through the trees looks like a hurricane compared to NTSC films.

I have a kung fu film on PAL and NTSC because it was eventually released here and I know it's moving quicker because the run time is shorter on PAL by 6 minutes or so.

So, do NTSC films look bogged down to PAL watching folks.

My man El Gamo responded to the original post and said that he sees no difference. Anyone else have an opinion?

Never noticed any difference here although my DVD player and PC won't play Region 1 discs so only ever buy pal retails.

Download NTSC's all the time from the net though and they play fine.

My advice is move to a better country

my system plays both fine but I got it because it was multi-region. The only thing I have noticed is some videos that are ntsc can look grainy.

Yeah that is the one plus I see in PAL, the clarity is much greater. PAL almost looks like Hi-Def compared to NTSC

I don't know the terms in film & tv but if you think of it like pixels, PAL has more than NTSC
