Thread: Mijares-Montiel: If it happened

Who wins?

I still haven't seen the Montiel fight from last night but I did see Mijares and thought he looked pretty good. Apparently Montiel looked strong. Seems like a logical fight to make.

I tend to agree although apparently Montiel looked good last night.

He's got a bit of a history of choking in big fights, obviously didn't do it last night although Mijares is a different guy than Castillo.

Montiel looked great last night.

I'd favor the Southpaw Mijares. I think it would make for an exciting fight and one I would love to see.

I would take Montiel by late stoppage. He's really improved his power these last couple of years

Sheesh,these 2 blew me away! Montiel winning a big fight and looking awesome and Mijares making a technical souhtpaw counter puncher who threw hundreds of punches miss and winning easily! I'd take Mijares SD.

Mijares is the future as well as the present in my eyes.

If Montiel could get to Mijares's body, I would give him a shot. He's pretty lanky and I'm not sure how well he could take a sustained body attack from a good puncher like Montiel. Montiel would need to take away Mijares legs to win. Still, I would favor Mijares. This fight should definately happen.
