Default President of PR Boxing tells Tito to retire for good

Wow. Did you guys see this?

"It was silly that Trinidad returned for the second time to boxing and I believe that he should never fight again", stated Peñagarícano to the Associated Press. "I don't believe he has anything to gain, but a lot to lose and Tito doesn't have the finanical need to continue boxing," he added.

    Here's the full story...

PRESIDENT OF PUERTO RICO BOXING COMMISSION URGES TRINIDAD TO STOP FIGHTING

He also said Tito shouldn't fight Pavlik...something about him getting knocked out.

I'm kind of shocked that he would say something like that about Puerto Rico's beloved son. I thought he actually looked pretty good considering he was coming off a two year layoff and fighting a guy that was bigger than him. I think Tito can still be competitive against the likes of Taylor, Pavlik, Miranda or Abraham. Instead of urging him to stop fighting, el presidente should urge him to take better matchups. LOL.

Interesting, but it will probably just motivate Tito more. He can be quite stubborn and it is hard for a man who once ruled boxing to be told he can't do it anymore. Only a good beating will do that and he has not recieved one yet. The closest thing to that was the Hopkins fight.

I don't want to see him get beat up, but I guess I'm just a foolish and maybe selfish fan that once to see a little more. I belive he still has 1 or 2 more good fights left in him. I say if he can't make 160 than he should go after Taylor, Miranda or Lacy. I'd give him a goot shot at beating them. Taylor would be tough if he used the jab but he is so inconsistant with it my bet is he won't use it enough.

I wish he could make 160 again, which is tho only place I see him having any kind of significant success. But maybe I'm fooling myself either way. Such is the life of a fan...
