120-108, 117-111 and 119-109, doesnt seem like too much hard work for him. He really needs to step up with the best at 168 now because we all know the devision has a lot of potential and so does he! I hope he stops fighting easy fighters though.

...good to see him back.

Mundine Is A P.r.i.ck , And One Of The Few Guys I Wouldnt Want To Beat Calzaghe![]()
Exactly... I want him to actually fight someone decent... Until he takes a challenging fight, I refuse to take him seriously, and he's wasting his time... He'll end up retiring having never fought anyone worth mentioning.. It gives me the shits.. And he talks as much shit as Mayweather as well! Except at least Mayweather is actually prepared to back up his mouth..
EXCEPT with COTTO - Before I get jumped on by the "mayweather ducking cotto" crew

Look i hate mundines stupid antics and arrogant demeanor but even if he retired now he wouldnt exactly have fought nobody as u put it.
Mikkel Kessler
Danny Green
Sam Soliman x 2
Sven Ottke
Antwun Echols
Manny Siaca arent exactly no names and there are a lot of guys out there who have fought weaker opposition.....
Kessler isnt busy so i think him and Mundine should have a rematch methinks Mundine gives him more troubles this time but Kess eeks out a points decision.
Well, he needs to do something this year as the 168lb division is pretty hot at the moment. He needs to get his ass over to the USA and fight and beat someone who is a real contender or champion. No excuses for Mundine now,
if he wants Kessler then go for it, or go after Calzaghe, Wright, Pavlik or Taylor. He doesn't seem to know what he wants to do, he is talking about fighting Green again at Light Heavy yet after he fought Soliman last year he says he wants to go to Middleweight? He is stalling his career for as long as possible knowing if he fights those guys it's the end!
I think Mundines main problem is that he can make decent cash just by fighting in oz against bums. He doesnt need to go overseas.
I think Jeff Lacy would be a good match up if he dont get Kess.
Yeah, I agree that if he retired now he still had a couple of good wins.. But that can be said of a LOT of fighters... It's frustrating more so, in the fact that he has improved and could add some bigger more "well known" names to that list... He's by no means over the hill and still has a chance to make his mark on the whole division, but he's always going to be in the shadows until he gets a big American fight...
I would love the Kess fight to happen, and personally would put the odd's almost 50/50.. Positives for both guys... But Lacy would also be a good fight..
Take some reps buddy!

I agree Eagle - unfortunately it is a sad indictment on the Australian boxing public that Mundine can make the money he does fighting his mates, as he did last night and carrying him for 12 rounds, or some sacrificial lamb from Argentina.
I refuse to watch Mundine unless he's fighting somebody decent - the last fight I watched was the second Soliman fight and he looked sensational. Which makes it all the more sad that he is wasting his prime years.
Lets face it, Mundine doesn't care about his legacy or fighting the best guys out there, he's worried about his bottom line. That's why he's chasing a fight with Danny Green to pocket himself another few million when the fights he should be chasing are against Calzaghe and/or Kessler.
Mundine is making a fool out of Australian boxing supporters and laughing all the way to the bank. More power to him - you are a long time retired in this game. The guy wants to make maximum dough for minimum risk - who am I to argue? He has a family to feed, how he works is his business.

Mundine is a very very talented fighter that has been taking far too many easy fights as of late, especially in a division that has become stacked almost overnight. I consider myself a fan but his recent resume is embaressing to say the least.
It's not Mundines fault that there is no-one in Australia to make a decent fight with besides Green. And do you not consider yourself to be an Australian boxing supporter? Have you been made a fool of? Is supporting a world champ from your own country being a fool? I see it as a good thing that people turn out to see our boxing champs. It would be a sad indictment if they didn't. I agree that he needs to step it up and fight better quality opposition but i'd rather see people at the fights and watching then not. Boxing needs more support in Australia not less.

I think most of the people that go to the Mundine fights are just token supporters anyway... I love boxing and would love some great fighters to emerge from Australia who can hang Internationally. It is what Australian boxing really needs... I bet no one followed Sam Soliman when he fought Winky Wright, or even know who the hell Winky Wright is..... We need our fighters to fight internationally, at least so we can see the competition that is out there and start getting more involved..
It's one thing to say that Mundine can pack a stadium in Sydney by 1000's of Australians who have only ever heard the name of 1 of the fighters in the ring...
I'm all with you mate.. I love my sport, love my country, and love our sportsman.... And god, everyone else in Australia seems to pride themselves on loving their sport and wanting Australia to be on the world stage as far as sporting events go,,,, but this will only happen when our sportmen get in and mingle on the world stage, with the worlds greatest athletes...
That's where I see Mundine needing to go.. and taking us with him... But will we be waiting forever?

Precisely why he should be fighting overseas, or bringing in better people from overseas.
I am a big Australian boxing fan, that's why I think it's despicable that Mundine lines his pockets while fighting challengers that simply do not deserve a shot. Hamdan lost last time out to Mads Larsen.
I have not been made a fool of - I didn't watch the fight. But if you paid money to see any of Mundine last two or three fights then yes, he was taking the piss out of you. You paid good money to watch fights that simply were not competitive.
Maybe if the Australian boxing public was slightly more discerning and stayed away from Mundines 'bum of the month' Wednesday night extravaganzas it would force him to step it up.
As sporting consumers the only power we have is 'to watch or not to watch', and until Mundine fights somebody decent I'll be steering clear.
