I'm not an expert or anything, but 7.5 pounds is a lot to lose in 24 hours. If I'm the commision I'm looking for a replacement opponent or getting Bradley to agree to fight him at a higher weight. I just hope they are prepared for the likelihood that he won't be able to make weight and are not just hoping that he does.

This is a guy who's already dead broke, and I assume there's a chance he gets sued again if he doesn't make weight here.

I've said it before...if Castillo wants to keep fighting, he needs to become a 147 pound trial horse, like a Cosme Rivera. Sure, Castillo will get his butt kicked at 147, but he should be able to make weight, and he could make some halfway decent $$$ as a "name" opponent against 147 pound prospects.

He failed again. Next time, he should hire a good nutritionist and more dicipline on his part.

Castillo's body can't make 140 any more. He needs to stop trying

It's sad to see the guy that had those two amazing wars with Corrales and Mayweather I, he just seems like a broken man. He has no money, any money he earns is going to pay off lawsuits. Too bad really.....

In all honesty I don't think it should be a problem for him to make 140 (of course I can't say for sure) And think this shows lack of motivation and conditioning.

At twenty years of age I find it extremely hard to have my weight perfect for competition.

At Jose's age can he not have a few allowances?
It may not be that he lacks discipline, it may just be that his body can't do it anymore.

His fight with Diego Corrales I was a fight which required inhumane training yet peole claim he hasn't been focused in the last few years!

*Update* Fight is off between Castillo and Bradley

I don't want for anything in the world to hurt this sport....last night I had increasingly intense pains and my trainer and the doctor suggested I cancel the fight for my own safety." Castillo and his team returned this afternoon to Mexicali.

Does Bradley automatically get the shot now or is there a replacement? I heard Btradley say beforehand he's not gonna let Castillo's weight stop him from getting that shot, so I wonder if he would fight him anyways.

I think he automatically gets the shot, since he was the number one rated contender anyway. He definitely won't be fighting Castillo because Castillo is on his way back home. I guess its possible that they could schedule another fight between Bradley and the next highest available contender, but that just doesn't seem fair to him.

I wonder what type of fines and suspensions Castillo will be facing this time?
