Thread: Lockett - Pavlik

If this fight is on, i'm actually really looking forward to it.

Lockett has the power to hurt Pavlik and Pavlik isn't that hard to it.

I know there probably is a bit of a gulf in class...but still, this is a dangerous fight for Pavlik to take.

I'm quite excited!

I am also not upset with this fight. Pavlik has had a insane schedule in 2007, this is a Mandatory that he is getting out of the way, and in is going to be at boardwalk hall, which means its close enough for me to go.

This is a mismatch, I like Lockett and want him to do well, but his power did not carry to middleweight, let alone up to world class middle weight.
It should be entertaining while it lasts.

Don't really give Lockett a cat in hells.

Lockets only chance is a KO so I think he will go for ut early.

From what I've read about Lockett, it should be an interesting fight while it lasts. I was really hoping for Pavlik - Winky, apparently (according to B-Talk) Goldenboy offered Pavlik 4M to fight Winky, but Bob Arum nixed it.

Do you really think so ? Miranda was a banger and his best shots bounced off Pav . I dont think Lockket has ever tested his power at this level.

Imo this will be a mismatch. Ive seen Locket beat by lesser men so Pavlik is likely to knock him out pretty early .

Who the hell is Lockett? And what happend to the Duddy matchup?

Duddy took a million flush punches and got his face completely busted up in his last fight against a no-name opponent.

His cuts can't heal in time to fight Pavlik in June. Plus he proved that he's a completely flawed fighter.

Lockett couldnt knock out glass jawed Ryan Rhodes , so what chance does he have againest a guy who took Miranda's bombs ?
Also Pavlik is much bigger and hits harder than anyone Lockett has fought by a mile . He doesnt deserve a shot , and will get KOED.

I dunno, i've seen him brutally ko a few decent guys. On reflection it probably is a mis-match. I'm not even a Lockett fan. I just know he's improved a lot since he got rid of his severe dust allergy (true story).

He does have power....and pav takes risks.....so who knows. We can hope!

even if he's a total no hoper I don't have a problem as long as Pavlik gets back going again after this one.
