Thread: There Is A Boxer's Union?

Joint Association of Boxers or JAB. I can honestly say that I have never heard of them and only stumbled upon them looking to see if John McCain had commented about the creation of a boxing oversight committee and a boxers union. Little did I know, there is a boxer's union. Obviously it isn't strong but if it's front page is correct (which hasn't been updated in 2 years) then they have a decent clientelof over 150 boxers including Casamayor, McCline and Braithewaite (who made noise today, always liked Braithwaite).

That's pretty decent. Then I went online and researched them and they seemed to have made a lot of news a couple years in calling for the pardon of Jack Johnson but also joining with Teamsters, which I don't know how much that means, but seems fairly significant. But strangely, can't find a single thing on them from the past couple years

Anyone know anything about this?

In the UK a few years back Barry McGuigan, Duke McKenzie, Colin McMillan and Nicky Piper started a fighters Union. Not heard anything about it in a ages though.

Yeah McGuigan tried pretty hard to get it off the ground, but it never grabbed the interest of anyone.
