Thread: Really Serious guys, Gomez is putting his Health in Risk....

Alfonso Gomez commented that he don't going allow to nobody interpose with his plan to fight for the World Title.....
Although his Doctor indicated him that he really cant fight for tomorrow after his Doctor found an inflammation in Pancreas Gomez a month ago....
Gomez not give a mind of the alert and assured that feel in perfect condition to go for his Dream to convert in a World Champion.....

He said; " My Doctor told me that he doesn't going let me fight , but i told him that he even know what he talking about, because an opportunity like this one i cant let it go "...........

Gomez confessed in a moment he thought to cancel the fight , because at first time he thought that had a tumor in his stomach. Then he went to get an second medical opinion , after of somes test they found an inflammation of Pancreas..........
This isn't an obstacle and doesn't going be an excuse either , they gave the option to be out of fight , but i said that is odd an opportunity like this , when present in your life , specially when we are talking of facing to ones of best in the World......
" So i decided to take a little rest and taking my medicine , and when my Doctor told me that my life will not going be in risk , i said that there not reason for not fight "......

Guys this is my opinion about Gomez in his condition , maybe his life isn't Risk , but his Health , hell yea man.....Although his great wish to be a Champion is soooo Big that he don't give a damn to sacrifice his body....

Cotto's the type of champion that would give him a shot again. He shouldn't go through with it if he feels that bad.

Yea Donny , i agree , but you know what?... Is good to have a Big Heart like that , but if know and is certainly sure that in the future he will and could get an opportunity like this to fight for the World Title , Why he expose to Risk his Health , he have to think in his family , you know , he is young now , but later he will going feel this bro.......

Exactly.
He does have a huge heart, but he's limiting it by doing thjis.
If he was sensible he could have a nice long career and he could use that heart. But by fighting when ill or injured he's shading fights off his career.

Probably the Purse that going win in this fight , he going need it for attend his condition , i hope he doesn't get worse after this fight , if not he will spend all in medical attention......

He was first diagnosed with pancreas problems that seemed very severe because his enzymes were very high...it turned out to be a virus in his stomache...it has been cleared up for a while...Gomez is fine

If his health was at risk he wouldn't be allowed to fight, and certainly wouldn't be advertising it to the world if he needed to keep it quiet too fight

Much respect to Gomez for this. He is taking a big risk getting in the ring with Cotto to begin with; an even bigger one after reading this. He may be fine now, but you never know what might happen in the fight, and he will be getting smashed by Cotto to the body, so I hope no ill effects come from this fight.

In a way it's nice to see a guy who is willing to take these risks, especially when having issues with his body. It's like Gomez is old school in his mentality; will fight anyone, anywhere, at any time just to make his mark in life. The pancrease is no joking matter and hopefully no long term damage will occur because of this.

At least he's not like Sergio Mora; who gets a chance with J. Taylor a while back and won't fight because he wants everything his own way.

I wish Gomez all the best in this fight, I have really grown to like him the last few weeks he is class act and shows alot of respect to Cotto but still sounding very confident. I hope he gives a good account of himself but I think Cotto is going to punish him hard and will be too much for him.

I already answered this Macho...At first they thought it was a problem with his Pancreas but then it turned out to be a virus...They advised him not to fight IF it was his pancreas and it turned out not to be....

Who are you going to believe the internet and the forum boards or me who has spoken with his PR lady every day for the last week and a half and talked to Gomez himself about the situation on the phone for an hour....
