    Default Where To Eat

Youve made weight, your starving, you have your food chit
    Where do you eat
    Some places I like
Jacksonville Fl- Baymeadows the have a place that does crushing Tandoori Chicken and Chai
Nashville- A place right near the Airport called the Roadhouse that does crushing steaks
Philly-There was a TexMex place on South Street that does awsome burgers
Also while your in Philly make sure you get a soft pretzel off one of the vendors, and the Cheesesteaks are obvious
NYC-Theres a burger joint on St Marks that kills, and a Indian Buffet near St Vincents Hospital. For Breakfasts theres a great Greek Diner on Avenue A. Vendors, hit the Knishes or Falafels
LA-Your probably going to be housed in one of the Huntington Beach hotels. Right down the road in walking distance is a Chinese place that will practically stuff you for a 5er,about ten blocks up is a Chinese noodle bowl place,Mexican is obvious, any vendor will hit you up good
Allentown-Travel south a bit to Quakertown, there are three joints to hit,the best Pizza on earth is from a place called Dominicks, real Chinese can be had at a place called Chui Yuin, and Lee's makes crushing Cheesesteaks and milkshakes
Chicago-I wouldnt recomend eating in Chicago,I had the worst breakfast of my life at Midway

Hit your own suggestions for the traveling boxer

Ju Fu, Pan Am - Chinese Restaurants by mine.

Jamie Carragher's new sports restaurant in Liverpool centre is actually pretty good, it's always full of players in there too.

I didn't see this topic, although mine was a health topic and mainly a yes/no topic. I like Outback and Longhorn pretty good.

Weighed in for the All Irelands February.
Hadn't ate in two days, went to the Park House Hotel, Eyre Square Galway.

For a starter I had a Green Salad,
The Mai Course I had a Steak with sideplate each of boiled, roasted and steamed vegetables.

And for desert a bowl of wholegrain pasta.

    Rocket fuel.

Why didn't you eat for 2 days? Seriously having a go at making weight?

If so, how'd that work out, weight loss wise. I haven't had to look at rapid weight loss for a match, and it is something I've wondered about. As in other posts i've seen you say...'the food the day before a match is more important then that day'...and I sort of agree with that. I also realize it isn't always going to be that way, ie...weight loss.

I was 71kg for 2 months with training. Hurt my shoulders a month before competition and went to 73kg.
Last minute weight loss weighed in at 70.8kg.

I completely believe it's how you repair yourself after the weigh in. I'd like to think I ate well and got in some good foods. I was not dehydrated at any point and weighing in at 73kg before my fight.

I won that competition with two points wins and two stoppages so it worked for me.

Any UK folk if you ever get the chance go to an Indian restaurant called Baltistan. It's in a little villagfe called Clayton-Le-Moors which is in Accrington. I kid you not this is the best indian I have ever come across and bearing in mind I am in restaurants 2 or 3 times a week (work)

Another great one is Akbars is Greek Street Leeds
