    Default Abraham-Miranda Update!

King Arthur: Who cares what Miranda says?
IBF middleweight champion King Arthur Abraham (26-0, 21 KOs) yesterday started his ten-day training camp on a small island in the Baltic Sea to prepare for the June 21 showdown with Edison Miranda. The champion admitted he is already counting the days until his highly-anticipated US debut. "Things have been going great in practice," he said. "I am looking forward to the rematch with Miranda." In September 2006, King Arthur clinched a unanimous points victory over the Colombian even though he had his jaw broken twice and lost over a litre of blood. Miranda, who had five points deducted by referee Randy Neumann in the first fight, recently launched a stinging attack on the 28-year-old German. "I do not think he is a good boxer at all, or a real champion. I will hunt him down like a wounded pig and slaughter him. Abraham won't hear the final bell on June 21st," was among the nicer things he said.
Abraham, however, says he couldn't care less about Miranda´s latest comments. "Does anyone really care about what Miranda says? He should tell his psychologist about his problems. Had I failed to beat a man who has his jaw broken twice, I would have retired immediately and would rather work as a night watchman," said Abraham. Meanwhile, trainer Ulli Wegner is optimistic King Arthur's US debut will be a successful one. "The last time Miranda clearly lost on points. This time Arthur will knock him out," he predicted.

Miranda offers career advice to Abraham
Calling in from his training camp in Puerto Rico, super middleweight contender Edison ‘Pantera’ Miranda chuckled when he was read the latest statements from his June 21st opponent, Arthur Abraham, who stated that in their highly controversial first bout in 2006, if he failed to beat a man who had his jaw broken, he would have taken a job as a night watchman. “I agree with you Arthur, if it was a one-on-one fight,” said Miranda of the first bout, one marred by questionable officiating. “Unfortunately for me, I was fighting you and the referee, and most people who saw the fight still believe I won. This time, I’m not trusting anything but my fists, and I will knock you out,” continued Miranda. “So, as a fellow competitor, I suggest that maybe you should start shopping for your patent leather shoes and uniform, because you’ll be doing that night watchman job by the end of the summer. I think you’ll be perfect for it, because when something happens, you don’t have to do anything yourself – you can just call for help. Our first fight showed that you’re good at that.”

AA wins, he could even stop Miranda late this time. I had it 6-6 the first time but there was deductions, some BS some legit.

AA is much improved now and his defence is now awesome, he wont be fighting with a broken jaw from the 2nd in this one either (unless Miranda brakes it again lol) so he should win a wide UD or late stoppage.

    I'll go by late stoppage.

I agree, Abraham was consistently wobbling and hurting Miranda in the first fight. Miranda is going to be weight-drained as well, I see AA stopping him.

I too am going for AA in the rematch, I think he will fight much smarter in the early rounds and take a UD.

miranda hits harder and has a far superior defence

abraham found a second wind during the 1st fight that saw him home and edison got put off his gameplan.

This time around miranda will be better prepared and will know what to expect.

    edison by brutal ko !!!

Miranda will be fine at the catchweight..Miranda was robbed of a TKO the 1st time when Abraham quit and the ref called the fight off but the GERMAN officials made the fight go on..

Trust me Miranda is pissed and will take Abrahams head off... Trust me you will see controlled agresssion and a measured pace.

I thought it was at 162, but I just checked and it's at 166. Miranda won't be as drained as I thought, though I still think AA wins. Miranda fighting pissed off might not be a good thing, he could get reckless or easily frustrated etc.

Miranda has better defense than Abraham

In the sense that with edison you see a guy who could probably walk through punches to win a fight.

Abraham is much more your strategist who will inevitably look to beat edison through counter punching.

Miranda got caught with AA`s best in the 1st fight and stood firm!!!

Miranda didn't do a great job of walking through Pavlik's punches. Pavlik couldn't miss with right hands all night. Abraham rocked Miranda with his shots numerous times in the first fight, from what I saw he was hurting Miranda as badly, if not worse, than Miranda was hurting him. Miranda was not, and will not be, walking through his punches. Like Killer says, Miranda's defense is leaky at best and Abraham's defense at times reminds me of Winky Wrights, I don't understand how you can say Miranda has better defense, but maybe you're using a different definition of defense than I am.

I think he meant his chin, which could have some validity considering the state of AA's chin at the outs of their last fight. But yeah Abraham definately looked the worse for wear, but Miranda was definately feeling some of those looping punches Abraham was throwing.
