    Default For Daxx, "Mongol"

Genghis Khan, conqueror of Asia. I've been reading into him lately, mostly you'll find only the cruel side of Khan. This movie directed by Sergei Bodrov, is however opposite. I hear its about the other side of Genghis Khan. The side we never hear about, how he grew up as an orphan then sold as a slave.Temudgin was his name as a boy and he would later marry his wife Borte. His wife would be kidnapped and become raped and pregnant by her kidnapper. Temudgin or Genghis Khan would later recover his wife and accept his wife's child to be his heir. Very interesting story, if you are reading this now Daxx. I would like to know what you know about Genghis Khan. I'm sure your the right guy to ask. The movie opens today here in Seattle's film festival.

Sounds like an independent film. I saw a couple Ghengis Khan docs. He conquered more land than Alexander the Great. He was a mean mofo.

I have read lots about this guy over the years. He came from nothing and conquered the largest land empire in human history. The Empire lasted for a long time after hias death as well, which is unusual in terms of great conquerors (Alexader, Tamerlane etc'd deaths spelt the end of their empires).

The film does not show him murdering his brother at age 12 over a fish, though.

all I can remember in my history class is that Genghis Khan is a cruel conqueror killing all people on his way.
