The first time I heard of him was a while back in the song smooth with Rob Thomas. Lately I've dug up a bunch of his old stuff and his sound now is very defineable to me. I'm sure I could easily pick him out of any song though never hearing it before.
Yea he's pretty awesome.
Went to a Santana concert in Melbourne earlier this year.
They did a song where the whole band split in two and did like two seperate tempos like two seperate songs with Carlos ripping the lead aside from the two other sounds!
The whole lot together was one form. I looked around the hall at everyone and most people had their jaws hanging open and wernt moving or dancing as usual but were just engrossed.
Carlos also put up a big screen and had Cathy Freeman our Aboriginal olympian up there and he said " This woman started to bring two nations together within one land. Now your Goverment has taken the lead and has appolagised for its forefathers actions you have a great country a great people, God bless you all.
Nice guy really cares for change for the better.
Santana is a legend. I always liked the Woodstock performance - rocking the SG!

Santana has season tickets to the Giants. Doesn't go every day but he has them. When my parents go they use a family friend's season tickets and they are always right next to where Santana has his seats but he's never been there when they have.
He took a hit of acid about 20 minutes before this because he wasnt supposed to go on for a few hours, but then the schedule got changed and they were sent out on stage while he was tripping his balls off. He said it was like his guitar was moving like a snake the whole time he was playing.
Hes great but in my opinion Clapton is GOD.
Micks video reminded me of this.
