    Default Where I have been

Well for the past week, I have not been around much, not because i did not want to be, but either because I have been indisposed and so out of it on different drug mixes, that I would just stare at the screen unable to type.

I noticed the symptoms start last Tuesday. I felt somewhat light headed and had a dry cough start. Tuesday night I hit into a 103+ degree fever, which would not go away. Each day, the cough got worse and the Fevers continued. I had to take Thursday off work and got my wife Donna to take me to a local day clinic. They advised it was a virus (well duh) and to drink plenty of fluids(huge waste of fucking time since I was practically dying).

Through the weekend the high fevers and my inability to breath continued. It got so bad, I barely remember the Pac fight I was so drugged up on cough medicine/ibuprophen/ and the natural "high" of being in a 103 degree temp state. Monday I went to my family doc and she put my on two inhalers, one is a steroid. The fevers have finally broke and although the cough is still very much alive, I can actually function a little again. I am now wondering how I am going to make up for not readily participating in Donna's Birthday (June 29th).

Shit, that's sounds terrible. Did you ever find out what specifically caused it? Hope you're feeling better asap.

I guess it was some sort of respiratory flu. I got worried thinking I may have gotten the west nile virus as I was getting attacked like crazy by mosquitos while outside BBQing for the entire week before.

The clinic Doctor said West Nile is not an issue here yet, but it does not mean I was not the first IMO. All I know is that it hit me really hard and fast.

Meh...Dean, you are one of my favorite people here. Sorry to hear you got sick dude but glad you are on the mend. Sounds like a bad virus, eh?

Flus tend to attack the respiratory system and it sounds maybe a bit like what you may have had. Most people confuse the flu with various forms of gastrointestinal problems...ie "I got the stomach flu" and write of symptoms such as yours as colds. Where in truth stomach flus are usually things like food poisoning or other matters, and those nasty colds are actually the more dangerous forms of Influenza.

Glad you're back. I watched the Pac fight for you. In case you can't remember it, Pac knocked Diaz silly, and then looked at the camera and shouted in an amazing Filipino sounding David Haye impression, "You're Next Wladimir Klitschko!!"

    (get better soon buddy)

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. I am starting to bounce back fine. I have gotten sick plenty of times in my life, but this was the first one that actually scared me (it was really scaring Donna). I guess I was saying some really strange stuff to her under a high fever. I remember getting uncontrollable shakes and involuntary movements and her there spraying me down with cold water. Crazy ass shit!! LOL

Sorry to hear that. You got me scared, Deanrw. I've been enjoying our 'catstory' exchanges through rep-messaging... You probably caught a bad strain of flu; some of those could be really pesky. Just don't forget to get enough sleep and you should be all right. I once had nagging coughs for months after a cold, which later turned into a Bronchitis, and I had to take loads of antibiotics for that. How did that happen? That was in the early days of internet and like most busy folks then, I forgot to sleep... If you can't handle flu's well, you should get a yearly flu-shot.

    Get well soon.
Once in awhile, get outside in fresh air, take a deep breath & with a deep sigh, let out all the things that's bottled up inside you & be free, & you'll get a glimpse of nirvana.
