A poll at Yahoo Sports website showed Ricky Hatton as the opponent of choice for Pacquiao's next fight.

JMM.
He pretty much know what JMM will do to him( takes a step back makes PAC miss the left then boom counter right).
Beating the best skilled lightweight or Superfeatherweight in JMM and beating the strongest punching fighter in Valero(still scared on this one though) are top fights I want to see.

I support the Hatton fight. PAC can possibly attain his "3rd title in 3 different weight class in 1 year" against Hatton (Hatton is the current IBO Jr. Welterweight Champ). Not only that, PAC is aiming for his 5th title in 5 different weight division. Plus the money is huge, maybe in 8 figures amount.
PAC's trainer Freddie Roach thinks that this is a winnable fight for PAC.
Valero just a high risk low reward fight and he offers less to the PACMAN.
very true. Against Hatton, it's a win-win situation for Pac. In case he wins against Hatton, he will have 3 belts in three divisions in just one year. How many have done that already?
He will go down in history(maybe) as the only one (?) who had achieved that and it will be very difficult to replicate or surpass.
In case he loses against Hatton, Pacquaio would still be great in many people's eyes coz its a great jump from his original weight(106 to 140) and simply it can be reasoned out that he has has already reached his limit. Using all quantitative techniques,Pacquaio is a sure winner in this fight.
By the way, I'm not changing my prediction that Hatton will win this fight.![]()
Ikariam
Makes sense win or lose PAC will get more fighting Hatton than Valero, which is definitely a high risk low reward
I just really want PAC to be the first to stop Edwin Valero that's all![]()

13,800 plus boxing fans voted for Hatton as next opponent for Pacquiao.
Hatton should take this fight now. Anyway, there's no shame in losing to the no. 1 P4P boxers (PBF then... PAC).

i voted others. valero needs to be tested first against a named opponent, soto could be good but dangerous match-up for him. a bout with hatton is too soon and should be held at the end of pac's career. manny can have a choice of opponent from the ff:
katsidis-diaz winner
campbell-guzman winner
casamayor-marquez winner
forget about the november date, i figured manny can fight any of the above i mentioned sometime in december, that would give whoever that is 3 months from his last fight. then the other 2 winners slug it out, the winner of which manny will face sometime between march and june of 2009. if pac comes on top of those fights then and only then should he consider going up another weight division to face hatton or whoever is top dog there by that time (though i hope it's still the hitman). that would be the ideal scenario for me.

I have no problem with Pacquiao fighting Hatton but i wouldn't like him moving up and moving down straight away in weight, sure its not a lot of weight but it can still effect you. So Pacquiao has to be careful im not sure how i want him to finish off his career but i would say these 3 fights.
Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton
Manny Pacquiao vs Edwin Valero beginning of 2009
Manny Pacquiao vs JMM vs Casamayor winner mid 2009
And if Pacquiao has one fight left after that then i would like him to fight Guzman.
For his next fight with Hatton & JMM tied up I'd go with Valero.
But I want to see Pacquiao face the Casamyor/ JMM winner for the lightweight championship before a Hatton bout. That would be Pacquiao's 4th linear championship should he win!
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
why the fudge is juan diaz now suddenly old news ever since that lost to nate??
He got beat by a more experienced, hungry fighter that outboxed him on the night.
But he is still a world class opponent who on his day could beat anybody in the 135 and below divisions.
Id love to see juan get the chance of a lifetime against manny.
