Default Khan lookin to Yanky coach

BBC SPORT | Boxing | Khan sets heart on American coach

Personally i think this good news, apart from enzo there arent really the top coaches here in the UK that they have in the US and also he wont be so well known over there so they can take an objective look at his pro's/ con's.

Ive thought this would be a good idea for a while now, what do u guys think ?

Yeh i've been saying it pretty much since he turned pro that he would get a better education in the States. The only British trainer i'd recommend for him would be Adam Booth.

I think Roger Mayweather would be most capable of getting the most out of Amir's talents. He needs to improve defensively. Offensively he is brilliant.

I don't think Enzo Calzaghe is a good trainer he just happens to have a son who is 45-0 he showed himself up in the Calzaghe vs Hopkins fight all he did was shout and scream never offered much apart from that.he was pretty much same in the Lockett vs Pavlik fight.Kahn had no reason to get rid of Oliver Harrison really.

To be fair, anybody who learns boxing from a book and then teaches it to his son, who then goes on to be probably the most dominant 168lber of all time, is pretty special imo.

I know Joe obviously has major talent anyway, but Enzo Mac and Rees don't and they both managed to win world titles with Enzo training them.

I know he is a bit of a maniac and he can be very annoying. But still....

Enzo isn't a good trainer... He's lived off the skill of his son.

Enzo mac was brought virtually all the way by another trainer Enzo took over when he retired and if im right Enzo didn't train Joe till late in his Amatuer career.

I just think Enzo is high on himself... Whats he done for ANY of the fighters in his "stable"... NOTHING.

Joe is his gem and has reached where he is cuz of Joe... Granted Enzo may know his son... But other then that Joe got where he is on his own grit, determination and heart... obviously also with a huge amount of skill and great work ethic... Hat off to Joe as I always do but Enzo would be a nobody without Joe and would be making guest showings as SUPER MARIO at kids' birthday partys... Enzo, hug your son tonight and tell him how much you appreciate him being your meal ticket

Yeah but still, the facts are last year he had 3 world champions. 2 of which were fighters with very limited ability.

Either way i think we both agree that he wouldn't be any good for Amir

In no way would he be good for Amir... I'd have to agree also.

Get John Tandy back over to Britain, he would do a top job, not sure he could do much about the chin though, get him back in the UK helping British fighters where he belongs

He doesn't need an American trainer at all. What Khan really needs to do is get a hilarious mohican haircut.

Only by looking like a complete tit will Amir Khan ever realise his dream of winning a world title. It doesn't matter who your trainer is if you don't have the right haircut.
