Default WHY IS WEIGHT NO LONGER AN ISSUE AT 200lbs?

I've always wanted to know this. With all of the divisions out here to confuse the crap out you, why don't they have a weight class for 200-210, 211-220 and so on like the other weight divisions. I guess 200lbs is just as heavy as 270lbs. It always seemed to me that the regulation of Boxing weight stops at the Heavyweight division. Jones was 200lbs(if that) when he fought a 233lb(I believe) Ruiz. Thats a 33lb weight advantage. Why not have Floyd Mayweather mix it up with Tarver or Johnson? I'm ignorant on this matter and would like to know what is up with the situation.

Very good point Bro, I'm not exactly sure what the answer is though. I'd probably say because it is very rare to see a very agile/or nimble 270 pounder out there that could REALLY mix it up with a stockier powerfully built 220 pounder.

Actually......i never thought about it that way. That is pretty fucked. They should make heavyweight the last weight division (it already is) but they should have a limt on how much you can weigh.

I think they sould move the minimum heavyweight limit up to 220 then 190, just like mma. Now adays it is rare to see 190-200lbs heavyweights. Athletes are getting bigger and this change would allow the other divisions to expand.

There's not enough talent among the heavyweights as it is, if you further restrict it there will be even less talent in each division.
