anybody else really looking forward to the fight with paulie ?
i cant wait, mainly to see if and how floyd has helped him, i think he will help him loads if he had floyd in his corner 5 10 years ago he would of been untouchable imo

I reckon we'll see some new stuff for the first few rounds before reverting to type and becoming a maul fest. I think it's on ppv so I won't be watching it.
Ive never really been a Hatton fan but i am looking forward to seeing what Mayweather brings to his game i think he will be fitter with all that running in the mountains without all that fitness and strength coaching i dont think weights help much. And i think Floyd will offer him a good plan b and c if he needs it.
i think floyds tatics will really help aswell, hopefully ricky will box a bit more aswell
I don't think Ricky's style will change. He's been fighting the same way for how long now? If anything, he'll expand Ricky's boxing IQ and he'll become more of a thinking fighter instead of just going straight forward and mauling his opponent.
Shit i am, i think this will be a great fight. I expect paulie to come in with a bright green velcro mohawk/mullet combo for this one. I dont see floyd helping hatton at all but i also don't think he'll need it. I will be surprised to see anything different from hatton, he will pressure paulie and swing away like usual, the only time is hasn't worked was against floyd...and nothing anyone has used has worked against him, i agree with the previous person who said this as well, in the gym hatton is probably trying some new things but in the ring i don't think anything will be different.

last thing I saw was an article on boxingscene where Sr. was kind of blasting Hatton about his drinking and going up in weight so much. No doubt he's right, its almost certainly hurt his career.

I'm looking forward to this. I'm really 50/50 about it is probably why!
Either Paulie boxes his socks off or Hatton beats the hell out of him via mauling!
If Paulie had a bigger punch I would probably go 65-35 Paulie but it's going to depend on how he weathers Ricky's storm.
I think Hatton will pull out a close one. Hatton will get the early rounds with Paulie picking off enough rounds throughout to make it close.
I am curious to see if/how Floyd Sr. changes anything with how Hatton fights. I agree that not much will change with his style, but am hoping that Hatton will try to box some more.

Whenever i watched hatton (before the decline and excessive holding) his style always reminded me of Chavez. His punch selection, his work in the inside.. the way he threw his punches.
He was another Chavez to me, honestly, minus the ability to slip.
I think Floyd sr is the guy to teach him how to slip punches and make them miss and really bring ricky out the performance slump he's been in and help expand his career a little longer. He may actually BE Chavez against Paullie haha.
I actually think Ricky wins this fight relatively easy. I think that even the Ricky who has no d defense beats paulie easy just by working off his jab and applying pressure.. Now that he has Sr in his corner, it's a certainty that he'll work off his Jab (thats something floyd emphasizes) and his defense will definitely be better. I don't see how Paulie wins this fight, imo.
I think Hatton slips punches pretty well, his biggest problem was that he relied on being to fast for his opponent to be able to react to him, but when he met fast guys like Floyd Jr and Collazo who were as fast or faster he was getting countered when he wasn't used to it, and Floyd could hit you even if you are moving your head a lot, he is so accurate.
I just wish Floyd Snr was helping guys like Berto improve their defensive game, no offense to Ricky but he must be 30 by now and I can't see him changing a whole lot. I think Berto in particular is a guy with a huge future and has the perfect style for FLoyd Snr to coach. I like Berto's corner already, but Floyd would help tighten his defense up, and teach him to go to the body.
