    Default Did Bhop surprise himself?

I was wondering if anyone thought even Bhop himself was surprised at how easily he dominated Pavlik? He surprised me. I was also surprise at the pep talk he gave KP after the fight . "Bend your knees" "dont let this fight destroy you". Made me an even bigger Bhop fan.

They say sometimes a fighter gets "old" in one night. Looked like Bhop got younger.

I see no reason for him to retire even at his age.

Also what is next for KP ? Who should he fight.

kelly is fighting Rubio next and maybe another tune up after that before he fights Abraham. But as for Bhop he most likely will be fighting the winner of Jones and Calzghe. i dont see another fight for bhop really and dont nobody say Dawson.

I keep forgetting Kelly is still a belt holder . I guess Abraham will use the Bhop fight as a blueprint for beating Kelly ,or at least try. I hope Kelly bounces back big.

kelly will learn from his mistakes. but abraham is nothing like hopkins and cant just learn his style of the back bhop has his own style that nobody can copy.

oh and bhop didnt surprise himself he said from day 1 since the match was made that he was gonna teach kelly a lesson. i shoulda listen myself since he is one of my favorite fighters of all time.

I think he was more surprised at how poor Kelly fought and how easy he was to hit.

Nah, in hindsight it was fairly easy to see why Hopkins wanted that fight so badly, and extremely puzzling why Arum went through with it. Hopkins was never going to lose to a guy with slow feet and that style, he knew it.

There were a couple of instances though in the fight where Hopkins did look surprised at just how easily he could land. Think it was the 7th where he threw literally 4 bolo punches in a row and before the last one just kind of looked at Pavlik like "son are you kidding me"? Priceless.

Yeah, I would never have thought that Pavlik would be shut down by not being allowed to work off his jab like that, it was like he had nothing without it. I think I'll watch the fight again later I ain't seen it since..

I agree, IMO he was expecting Kelly to be completely unrelenting and had prepared himself to spoil. Half way through the second round he realised Kelly could be discouraged and his confidence rose throughout the fight.

I don't see how people thought Pavlik was any harder to hit. Jermain Taylor hit him anytime he wanted, he just didn't throw enough and was easy to hit himself. I think B-Hop was just surprised more people didn't see that coming
