Default If Roy was Winky or Ali

He would have been given way more credit defensively, I know I've mentioned this before, but I've seen this Calzaghe-Jones fight many times now, and most of the rounds in slow motion at least once, and people who say Calzaghe dominated JOnes are out of their minds.

I was drunk the first time I saw it, and it was blurry in format I saw it, I was giving the biased british pricks that were commentating for the brittish version of HBO the benefit of the doubt, but I started watch the fight in slow mo and counting the punches landed by Joe.

When HBO had him up to 55 landed jabs there were less than 30 up until that point that landed, The 300+ punches they had Calzaghe landing was a crock of shit.

I mean they actually had Joe landing at a higher % agaisnt Hopkins and Roy then they did against Mikkel Kessler. If that was Mayweather in there based on his defensive credentials they would have had Joe landing 10% of his punches. Same shit with Floyd my second favorite fighter landing nearly 50% on Oscar, WTF he didn't, Oscar fought pretty well defensively in that fight, but Floyd is considered so accurate it skews the punchstat numbers IMO based on what the person's conception of the fighter is. Punches that are counted against Roy wouldn't be counted as scoring against Wright who is considered the defensive crab.

I am not debating Roy won, but I am debating what people consider domination, I think Calzaghe deserves the same credit offensively in most of that fight as FOreman did against Ali, because when he had Roy against the ropes thats about how effective he was.

I mean Joe isn't the hardest puncher, but if he is landing that many "clean" punches on Roy then Roy would have been knocked out.

I'm mainly mad because Roy got a bullshit decisiion against him with him losing everyround after the first, going by decisive punches every single one of the first 6 rounds were close. Joe would be getting a lot of the credit for being busy, but all the credit for every round IMO is bullshit. In the fourth or fifth round they credited Joe with 35 landed punches, when he landed at most 10 less which is important because in that round Roy landed inbetween 16-20, but Roy's punches were much crisper.

I don't mind people who think being busy is important, but being busy IMO is fighting like Margarito or JOe Frazier, Ali, Ibeabuchi, Tua...

This shit reminded me of the Leonard against Hagler, if you throw punches just to have high number then pitter patter punches should be considered as such. People were way too blinded by Joe's antics and didn't even Roy also did plenty of the same shit to Cazlaghe, there were a number of times where Roy dodged combinations of Joe's with his hands down, and more times for Roy when he landed clean punches because Joe was hotdogging.

You've watched all the rounds in SLOW MOTION!?!? You da man Taeth.

Going over fights with a fine-tooth comb you will OBVIOUSLY find inconsistencies. You're criticising human button pushers for not 100% accurately recording the punches of a man that throws a million per fight, including constant lightning flurries. It's impossible to accurately register every "clean" punch landed. Calzaghe must be their worst nightmare.

Again here, like you did with the Hopkins fight, you seem to criticise Calzaghe for missing punches. With his volume he will naturally miss a large amount.

And one of the "biased british pricks that were commentating" (Richie Woodhall) scored the fight 115-112. The American HBO guys only gave Roy two rounds. Manny Steward only gave Roy the first.

I agreed more with Ritchie's scores of 115-112 the 118-109 were a joke
