Lacy really was a fraud
Lacy really was a fraud
I thought Taylor looked OK...for being off that long he looked really good. As for Lacy he's dealt with injury and a profound beating that he took at a vulnerable time in his career.
It's a shame that Lacy has faltered so much, had he taken his time he would have been a better fighter for a longer period of time.
JT just needs to keep his fucking hands up
I'll use a line that is used to me everytime i go on about Rocky Marcianos opponents records looking crap after they faced the Rock suggesting they werent all that.
Joe could have ruined Lacy as it was a pretty one sided 12 round beatin![]()
Shame for Lacy...he's like another David Reid. He stayed in the amateurs too long, he took on more than he could handle too early and he paid the price with his career.
There's still options out there for Jeff to fight and win, but he's never going to have a title again.
Just a bad night for ex-Calzeghe opponents all around,Manfredo got sparked too
Lact reminded me (and has for some time) of David Reid. He simply lost it at a point in time, though I think Reid was a far better fighter. Lacy simply moves around the ring and throw one bad right at a time. As for the left hook, he has none thanks to the shoulder injury. Yes, jc ruined him big time. He is as done as a burnt piece of meat.![]()
....ok so take any belts, shoe laces, and sharp objects away from POB![]()
I think Taylor fought amicably against Winky, but the style matchup was poor for him, I also thought the second Pavlik fight he fought well, he just didn't throw enough, but his defense was way better than in the first fight, and he stood his ground more. I knew ever since seeing Lacy fight Calzaghe that he was overrated, he has a lot of tools, speed, power, strength, but he doesn't use them together, he loads up on punches which negates his speed, he doesn't move very well, he has no head movement, and like Mike Tyson he often is hesistant, waiting for the perfect punch, instead of making that punch happen.
Lacy seemed to me early in his career that he could be a smaller Joe Frazier but he stiffened up, refused to move his head or his hands, and did not work his way in to do damage.
Taylor needed to move up in weight, I am not sure that 168 is even right for him actually. I want him to turn around and have another fight really soon vs a top level super middleweight. Taylor used to jab a lot and counter extremely well, his fight vs Marquez was a great one, jab, slip punches, throw combinations and turn Marquez around so that he can't counter back....he needs to get back to that.
