    Default Making videos for YouTube?

Anyone here do this kind of stuff that can offer a few tips, particularly what software to use. I'm not so interested in making my own movies, mostly I will be combining mp3 and photographs.

I am using Windows 2000 Pro, which does not have a lot of built in software like XP and Vista. Thanks.

I've used Windows 2000 and muvee.
    Also Roxio is good.

I think muvee is the best for what you are looking for it's literally:

    1. Choose Pictures
    2. Choose Music
    3. Choose Style of video
    4. Save

Thanks Mick. I ended up upgrading to Windows XP because I couldn't get wireless networking to function in Windows 2000.

I am trying to use the built in Windows Movie Maker. Have you ever used that? It is giving me grief because I can only save under the MSWMM format. There is an option in the FIle menu called Save Movie File..., which is supposed to allow you to save the movie file in a format that YouTube will accept, such as .avi or .mpeg, but no matter what I do, the Save Movie File... option is grayed out. Naturally.

That Muvee one sounds really good...

Also CGM if you want to have a look for programs, you should try SinlessLinks.com | Rapidshare Links Site

They have movies/tv series etc, but there is a link "Appz" which just has all programs for your computer.. You can run a search for a particular program, but you may be to look through the programs and if you see one that sounds like it is for video editing, you can search in google and see people's opinions on it etc..

Here is a link to the actual applications page

    SinlessLinks.com - Appz - Rapidshare Links

You can just go through page by page looking at all the programs.
They are all free, but if it's a big program, you might have to wait a day to download it all, as Rapidshare which is the website you download from, only lets you download a certain amount each day....
But if you find exactly what you want that suits you perfect but you can't fully download, let me know and i'll let you use my rapidshare account to get it...

ALSO, I have a question... I also want to make a similar movie.. I want to use an MP3 song, but I want to take small snippets from all my episodes of Supernatural and make like a music video with all cool scenes from it...
So i'm wondering what is a good program to do that?

I'm never this lucky when searching for things for myself, but on the link I just posted above, on the 3rd page they had Muvee..

Here is the link for it.

    SinlessLinks.com - Muvee Reveal v7.0.40.8982.2056-DVT - Rapidshare Links

It's not a huge file so you should get it all straight away in one download for free.. Also means it's not a giant program filled with a million features you don't need..

Let us know how it goes..

Thanks Diz. Early problems I had with Windows Movie Maker in XP were dumb end user problems. I've managed to create a .wmv file by throwing together an mp3 with some jpg files, so I am on the right track. Hopefully soon I will have some music vids to post in the "What are you listening to?" thread.

Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum Edition is awesome

It does not get any easier than this using a stable resource friendly program such as Sony Vegas PE 9

I've seen your work, so I know you know what you're talking about with this stuff. I'm just a dabbler, just the basics, so I don't need much in the way of features.

Ha! only with Microsoft could you combine a 15 MB .mp3 with a 35 KB .jpg and get a 54 MB .wmv movie file. What a bloated pile of shit Microsoft has become.
