Default Im Actually Rooting For DLH

I never root for DLH, but his work ethic for this fight has impressed the hell out me.
He's gone seriously old school for this one.
Ensconsed himself in a cabin in Big Bear, which is quite frankly,if not the middle of nowhere, you can see it from there.
Brought in Nacho and Dundee as trainers
Hell the guy's even cutting wood for training.
Might as well be Ali's cabin near Pottstown in the 70's

I don't know, I just get so cynical thinking about this fight. Oscar is such a phoney it's really hard to take anything he says seriously. Every single fight he needs to make some great change in his camp which "brings that fire back to his belly..." It's a pile of BS if you ask me, the only deciding factor in this fight is whether Oscar actually goes for it or if he plans to make Manny look good lasting 12 or even lose to him in order to cash in on some future matchup. I still think DLH's left hook is just way to much for Manny to be able to take repeatedly, and there's no reason Oscar shouldn't be able to land unless he has faded immensly for this fight alone. If he approaches this fight like he did Mayorga it SHOULD be a massacre, far as I can envision. Honestly though, I think it's likely he won't. I doubt Oscar really cares much about how people view his legacy anymore or any of that jazz. He is strictly a businessman who fights to better his own promotional company, and in that sense I do have the utmost respect for his savy. As a fan though, I really don't wanna see this turn out to be a sparring session.

Oscar fought Mayweather and lost then he fights small Forbes then Mayweather retires so he chases Pac who is a smaller man at 5ft 6inch last fighting at his highest weight 135lbs Oscar is a natural 154lbs fighter as been as far as 160lbs and is 5ft 11inch and if he wins he wants another small man Hatton who is a natural 140lbs fighter and 5ft 6inch he is just after the money and if he beats Pac he won't be P4P#1 Oscar should stop being a bully boy chasing these smaller men for there names and fight Magarito,Cotto or Paul Williams.

But this time out of the gate he's doing everything Id want to see to make me think he's dead serious about this fight.
Dundee is costing him a serious penny alone
Nacho dont work for free either
And theres nothing to do in Big Bear but ski or train

That's true, he does seem to say something like that for every fight. When he had Floyd Sr. back, that was great, when he got Roach, that was the key.

I think people are idiots for thinking this is a walk in the park for either guy. Even if Oscar manhandles Pacquiao, he will need to train as hard as he ever has to ensure that he does. People don't understand that, they criticize guys like Mayweather for fighting Hatton, but they don't see that he was sparring 20 rounds against Lovemore N'Dou and Carlos Baldomir nearly everyday leading up to it. I don't think its what happens in the ring that proves ones greatness, but what they do out of it to prepare themselves.

Benitez was a great fighter, but I will never forgive him for training 11 days to fight Leonard. Or the two weeks he prepared in fighting Hearns. I look on guys like that with distain.

I don't care who you are fighting I would expect you to train as hard as possible for the fight. These guys are getting the top dollar to fight at their best. Oscar knows that Pacquiao is a live underdog even if ignorant people don't, and he knows realizes that size isn't all that matters. I mean he went up to fight Bernard Hopkins who was way bigger than him. He fought the dangerous Tito Trinidad in his prime, he fought Mosley twice, he fought Whitaker, he fought Mayweather. He's foughten both the bigger and smaller guys, and I think he realizes that Pacquiao is going to be a lot bigger and stronger than we have ever seen him, and he has the heart of lion.

So he is training hard, that is what they are paid to do. ODH will have to retire out of embarrassment if he looses and that is really why he is putting in the hard work.

Missing the point, this is the most focused Ive ever seen him,my only concern is that it may be too late in his career. I actually respect his regimen this time, usually I cant even be bothered to watch his fights. He is well and far from a fighter Im a fan of. But this time he's doing everything right for a change.

I've always loved De La Hoya but I'm really starting to dislike him more and more I hear him spew bullsh*t and pick on smaller people. I understand he's always fought the best but I'm judging him about what he's done lately not what he's done years ago.

Oscar doesn't exactly have financial problems either. Him paying for Dundee and Nacho's help is like me buying a pack of gum from the corner store.
