Thread: Wladimir Klitschko - Hasim Rahman

How does this fight go and who do you see winning?

I think this fight will be different than most recent Wladimir Klitschko fights. Wladimir has already stated that he "wasn't impressed" by Hasim Rahman when Vitali was scheduled to fight him. Wlad has everything in his favor, youth, size, strength, speed, power, boxing skill...as always I hope Wlad doesn't rely only on his skill to win, he needs to fight with heart and a since of urgency and I think after his past couple of fights he will want to show that he's a dominant champion.


Rounds 1-2: Wlad establishes the jab and begins to land the right cross, knocking Hasim down

Rounds 3-4: Wlad puts combinations together and finishes Rahman off


With Manny Steward (former trainer for Lennox Lewis) in his corner, Wlad should already have a good feel for what Rahman will try to do to him and hopefully Wlad can KO Hasim as impressively as Lennox did (one of the greatest KO's I have ever seen)

Wlad should win by early KO, Rahman should never have this shot.

There's always that question mark over Wlad, but if he loses it'll be down to him and not anything that Rahman does well.

Rahman's bark has always been bigger than his bite. Wlad is a student of the game, and has made great strides in trying to correct his shortcomings. KlitschKO by TKO.

All Hasim has is the big right cross and I doubt even with a slight reach advantage that Rahman's right cross will be as effective as Wladimir's. I would like to see Wlad use the uppercut and the left hook if needed to KO Rahman....I think the same combination Lennox threw is open vs Rahman. And if Hasim does his usual defense with his hands up and out he's going to get hurt early and often

The only way Rahman wins is if Wlad does what Lennox did and underestimates him and then gets caught off a big shot.

If Wlad loses it'll be legit because Hasim Rahman will have to be fighting out of his skin. This is THE end for the Rock. If he doesn't make it now the next stop is the garbage heap. He knows he shouldn't have gotten a shot against THE champ and he's going to have to make the most of it. Remember what Lamon Brewster did in their first match? Rahman better keep that on a constant loop and be chewing on bark to harden up his jaw. He can't outspeed, overpower or outbox Klitschko. His best bet is to swarm and to stay on him, under him, around him and throw punches from everywhere. If he settles into a tempo Klitschko sets it's just a matter of time before he gets knocked out. But Rahman's big right hand could take out anybody if he lands it right.

Klitschko will jab Rock's right shoulder. Tenderize that arm so all he can throw is a fistful of cotton candy. Wlad is stiff, but Rahman isn't a salsa dancer, either. I wish Manny could get him into some kind of dance class that would force him to move his body. The guy is just so mechanical in there he never seems like he enjoys himself. Superman is supposed to LIKE flying. I'd like for Klitschko to go back to the corner and get yelled at by Manny for doing something that WASN'T by the book. Like Lennox Lewis not knocking out Mike Tyson when Manny knew his was ready. Look at what Vitali did with Sam Peter. He put his hands down because he knew he didn't need to waste energy keeping them up. He could reach across the ring anytime and hit Sam Peter. HE looked like he was having fun. Wlad fights like he's standing in front of an ATM.

I got off track. Klitschko will be Klitschko and he'll do everything we've been seeing him do with success lately. He'll jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab-jab and throw an occasional right in the first, open up a little bit more in the second and by the 3rd it'll be simple arithmetic to figure out who's going to win. Rahman could take it if he had any kind of heart, but he's still running on credit for a KO he scored 7 years ago. Hasim has never been more than a B level fighter and entered elite status because Lennox Lewis was distracted by trying to be a movie star.

Wlad may have to climb of the deck , but i think he wins inside 6

ND before the bell. Rahman gets a papercut from Klitschko's robe and refuses to continue.

I firmly believe the last thing to leave a fighter is his punch and Rahman put Lewis firmly on his ass so he will always have a punchers chance against anyone... if he can get some full on shots off early then Wlad could well hit the deck but if Wlad uses his physical advantages and jabs well from the off he wins!

Please Rahman. You sucks horribly, but please KO him and put the HW division in turmoil. It would make me really happy.

Maybe just Maybe, one heavyweight out there would train for a fight for once, and come in with business in his gloves.

Wlad comes in great conditioning every fight. Hell, he came in lighter against Ibragimov and it was great thinking.

Agreed I can not name a fight Wlad has not come in shape for....

With the exception of the first Brewster bout in which he seemed to rin out of gas for some reason

Rahman a few years back would of given Wlad problems!!

That's that credit Rahman got for beating Lewis. If Lennox comes in shape for their first fight nobody would ever say something like that.
