    Default Minnesota Recount

So I guess Al Franken is 225 votes in front of Norm Coleman and barring a lawsuit (as if) it looks like he will be a Minnesota senator WTF?

I haven't been following this much but Minnesota actually voted Al Franken into office? I think it's official Minnesota has the best sense of humor into the entire nation.

In other news, Caroline Kennedy was "surprised" by her own voting record and glad that it was brought to her attention that she like never actually votes in elections. Ok Caroline.

And Jeb Bush would be an excellent president, so says Bush.

Cant really see the shock here,he's written 3 relatively well researched books on Politics, did Political commentary on the radio for a few years, and his opponent is quite frankly a douche

Typical result....keep counting until we're ahead. The people of Minnesota also elected Jesse 'The Body' Ventura as Governor a couple years ago so go figure.....if they want Al Franken they can have him

    You mean unlike Florida?
The rules are the rules, and Minnesota has a mandatory recount law

No,it has nothing to do with my cause, man. Its the law of the state,it was the law before anybody cast ballot one,and its still the law

If it had "everything to do with the law" as you say then you must be at least worried about how Al Franken started 215 votes behind Coleman and now has won by 225, not to mention the FACT that in a couple counties they have more ballots than people who voted.....but I digress, congratulations.

I'm not upset, I am just curious about how Franken found 440 extra votes is all.

....and Al Gore didn't even win his home state

I turned off politics for a while after the election, I had just watched too much CNN and MSNBC for too long. So honestly I don't know all the particulars about this as I'm just getting back into being informed. From what I know there were some votes thrown out for technical reasons from a Dem heavy area and they were counted. I could be mistaken.

doesn't change the fact that the whole thing was criminal. Pretty tough for a more "liberal" Dem to win Tennessee after 1964.

Think of how much better we'd be off, whatever you think of Gore he's no Bush.

I've said as much a few times in reference to Quebec separation from Canada, there's been several votes over the years and the separatists have lost every one of them. Some of them have been extremely close. But they'll keep having their votes, whenever they manage to gain the balance of power in their province, until they finally win one. Then the shit will hit the fan.

The Gore election was stole from him you can't deny that. This is a bit funny the thing was that there were like 800 absentee ballots that were thrown out and then counted. At first they weren't counted because they were considered duplicates and now they are. It's a bit ridiculous n cases like this I don't see why they don't just do runoff elections.

But Franken is a bit (lol) of a nut and easily the most annoying democrat radio personality there is.
