    Default Ramirez stops Alexeev!

Alexeev was a highly touted Cruiserweight but got stopped in the 10th by Victor Emilio Ramirez, an unknown underdog from Argentina. Ramirez takes the WBO Interim Cruiserweight title. Saw a picture of him at the weigh in and he looked pretty damn strong but I dismissed his chances out of hand knowing how highly Alexeev was rated. More fool me.

Amazing upset, won't get much notice west of Berlin, but this was an absolutely huge upset. This already has a chance of being upset of the year IMO.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Agreed mate. In Germany too, I honestly saw no way in which Alexeev lost. I even thought he'd be a difficult test for Enzo in the future.

    Who had Ramirez predicted?

Yeah, definitely didnt see this one coming. Alexeev is a former Amateur HW world champ who has been brought along very nicely in his pro career. Thought he would be a force in the division in 2009, then he goes out and loses like this.

Has anybody seen Ramirez fight, and is he the real deal?

As a sidenote another former amateur star Gennady Golovkin had a nice TKO1 win on the same card. He should be ready to step it up against a top middleweight this year, I think.

Yeah...that was a shocker...saw the fight yesterday and I think Alexeev had condition problems...having fought never past the eigth round and even that only once you could see how Alexeev gotten slower and doing less each rnd past the fifth...both men showed amazing chin taking everything their opponent had to offer, but Ramirez wobbled Alexeev nearly through the whole last rnd and Alexeevs' trainer took him out of the fight after that rnd to prevent any serious injuries...if you asked me it wouldn't have hurt to throw in the towl in that rnd...
