When The Best Fights Are Made, Everyone Wins
So many fighters lately seem to care more about ther records and less about giving the fans the best fight. JMM-Diaz was a fight that the fans wanted to see and they made it. Not because they had to, but they wanted to prove who was the best Lightweight in the world. Marquez proved to be, but there cant be a person on the planet who doesnt appreciate Juan Diaz for fighting a tremendous fight and giving it all he had. Both guys define what a champion is, reguardless of a win or a loss. The fans got a fight that reminded them(us) why we fell in love with boxing in the first place. Throughout both champions career there were times when they were down, times when they lost, but there were never times that you though either guy was not giving it 100% or looking to take an easy fight. EVERY Marquez and Diaz fight I have seen has been a great fight. Fighter sometimes lose when they continue to take chances by fighting the best. There is absolutely no shame in that, only honor. Its not the numbers behind the fighter that matters, Its the fighter behind the numbers.
