Thread: Fighters with the worst styles ever!

when you think about boxers with not just boring, but ugly style who comes to mind? Well for me theres a few. For starters does anyone remember Manuel " Mantecas " Medina? Ha Ha this guy had one of the ugliest jabs I've ever seen besides that of Vic Darch. What about Daniel Zaragosa? This guy was horrible though he had a heart of a lion!! Chris Byrd, this guy never learned to turn his punches!! He would hit with the inside of his opened glove, uhhhhh!! What about Rafael Ruelas? This guy was so off balance and he looked so uncoordinated. He looked like a newborn calf trying to stand up for the first time!!!! Ha Ha!!!!! Last but not least, John Ruiz. Talk about horrible! Jab hold, jab hold, rush in head down trying to grab you from the waist!!! Fucken utterly disgussting. How the heck did he ever win a title?

Johnny Nelson, lovely guy, boring fighter.

I saw Maussa for the first time against Hatton, and just thought he looked bizarre.

I was never a fan of Frans Botha , his hands down style , arm punches , with no defence. Simply horrible.

They are funny styles, but still terrible technically

Junior Witter, and Emmanuel Burton.

Daniel Ponce de leon for me, i cringed every time he fought. I am glad JML exposed him, hbo seemed like they were hyping him up a bit.

Valuev is definitely very terrible, another name that comes to my mind is John "Jab and Grab" Ruiz.

Welcome to the forum.Deep names there.Ruiz has to take the prize,must be like trying to box an over sized wet blanket..draped all over ya.New born caf Rafa..HAHA.Indeed.Have to disagree on Zaragoza...definatly not boxing beautiful 101 but horrible and boring do not describe him exactly.More calculating,Very well rounded,tenacious counterpuncher southpaw.Often looked like he used a machete for his morning shave but a solid underrated warrior.Medina was one of the busiest guys in the buisness,couldn't break wind with his shots mostly but all volume and could not be slept on.

Hehe, glad you like it. Personally, It is difficult to beat Ruiz for his boring style and the boredom he brings to the ring, he reminds me of a washed up wrestler that keeps on dreaming dreaming about the good ol' years where he could grab somebody and wrestle him to the mat. Now he can only grab and wait for the referee to separate the other boxers before his old shoulders crack in every direction... Except he's not really old, neither a wrestler, just a boxer who did chose the wrong vacation.

One noone is going to say,but I have a reason for saying it,Joe Frazier.The exact way he fought,only really works for,Joe Frazier,anyone else who tries it gets their head partially removed from their shoulders,he just had a brilliant slip so he could get away with it. Another along those lines is Ali,he could get away with that crap in there,you will most likely get killed if you try it.
Watch their fights for the specialized brilliance,but dear god dont watch them to learn anything from them.
